I just posted it to my Livejournal account and my Myspace account.
Thanks. It appears someone on the Gun Owners Myspace group posted the pic at 3:55pm already, so I didn't have to post it there.
And, yes, it irritates me to no end that they didn't bum-rush this guy. If he's killing people at random, it behooves you to rush him and take him out with a few other people. Sure, there's a chance that you may be shot, but someone will get him and if you don't stop him, your chances of getting shot are MUCH higher.

I dont know what happened but it seems strange that students didnt fight back. Was there something in the message from the administration that caused this?Evidently the cops thought he was gone,What orders did they have?I cant believe no one tried to take defensive action. samuel.

I guess it is my nature to fight, but if I were in a building, and some guy was shooting, if he ever turned his back or even diverted his attention, I'd straight up tackle him right out of his shoes. I never played football, but I've watched enough to know that a stiff tackle to the ribs will put him DOWN.

A law enforcement source close to the investigation told CNN a .22-caliber handgun and a 9 mm handgun were recovered at the scene.
| These kids died because they failed to act. Self preservation SHOULD come before anything else, only our society has been brainwashed into believing not to fight, hide and you will be ok. Think about it, if you ask a cop what to do if your home is broken into, he will tell you to lock yourself in the bathroom and try to call the police. If you can't, still lock yourself in the bathroom until the intruder takes what he wants and leaves. Defending yourself and your property is now frowned upon. This should be a wakeup call to every American that they need a gun, and they need to carry a gun on them at all times. Only problem is, it's going to have a reverse affect. |
"They were telling us to put our hands above our head and if we didn't cooperate and put our hands above our heads they would shoot," Otey said. "I guess they were afraid, like us -- like the shooter was going to be among one of us."
| Wow, theres some good officers right there. Can you say cowards?

We should be honoring the deaths of the young men and women here, not deciphering how they "failed to act".
The shooter clearly knew what he was going to do, and how the police would react. This wasn't a random act of violence, it was strategically planned.

Last I heard the first girl and guy killed was an RA and the shooters girlfriend. I guess after a few hours in hiding he realized he was going to spend the rest of his life in jail so he decided to, pardon me for saying it, go out with a bang. I don't think it was planned out either, I just think the guy was smart(Asian). Yep, and he did know how the police would react, they did nothing. Honor them? Sorry, not today.

I agree that we can't blame the students. They are young and uninformed. None of us really know how we would react (unarmed) in that situation.
Now having said that, I watched a video on the news this morning that burned me up. It was poor quality video, but it sure seemed to show a pile of cops hiding behind trees in bullent-proof vest with AR-15's while shoots were being fired inside the Hall. You could here the shoots on the video. All it would have taken was one of those cops going in. Of course, they could not saved all the students, but maybe half? One? Who knows? I wonder how those bave boys in blue sleept last night?
I have a generally great deal of respect for law enforcement. My father was LE for 37 years. I just don't have much respect for this particular group of cops! Of course, I don't know the whole story yet - we will see what comes out.

Yup,a .22 and a 9mm. I was listening to the show while a student recorded it on a camera.
There were a lot of tiny pops and a few bangs, once when a bang occured someone said whoa.
He would go into a room fire a few shots then run out, presumably to reload.
These were young adult students, not children, one would think they could have got it together and taken him out,oh well,as I said before, pathetic and sad.
Surely the Democrats will have to at least attack high cap mags, although I'll bet the .22 was a 10 shot cap.
I am also glad it was a minority and he didn't use any "assault" weapons.

Don't worry, I'm sure the store clerks at the ATF will find something along the lines of an assault weapon to use against the rest of us.

I'd a been hittin him over the head with a desk or chair when he came into the room I was in if I were there...pansies. I'd have hit anyone coming in the room over the head with a desk or a chair, I don't know who they are And, heck, don't most college rooms have an American flag? That pole can make a good weapon, especially with that steel pike at the tip.
Yea, it is hard to say what a person would do in that situation, but I sure as **** know I wouldn't sit back & let them come in to kill me without a fight.

Chris,+1. No one knows what information the police were getting, how many gunmen, location, explosives etc..easy to be critical after the fact.

I don't blame the "kids" as much either. Our society does seem to be training them to be a "deer to headlights" when it comes to a situation like this. |

I think people are a little too quick to call names and point fingers, and blame the victims here.
I'm guessing some of the students DID try to fight back, and died doing it. Going up against a man with two guns, and taking him out barehanded? Not that easy...
And I don't think accusing the whole country of being cowards is either correct or relevant.

I'm not blaming anyone, I am sure these people were caught seriously off-guard, and I have no doubt there were some heroes among them. I am just saying how I hope I would have reacted.

Well, I for one am a little tired of foreigners coming in, getting student visas, and then killing our best and brightest. Like say 9/11? It's ridiculous. Send them back.

I wonder if he was trippin on something when he did this...though looking into his eyes, I can see some frustration there.
