Thanks Des. It's been about 6 years since I've done any major cardio work. After high school I got a job in the IT field and, well, spent the last 5 1/2 of it on my butt at work, and playing online at home. With the added weight and having had high blood pressure, I'm trying to ease into this I guess. My first goal is to be able to swim nonstop for 15 minutes, and then 20. Once I get to that point I'm going to then add 15 minutes of bike into my routine. I can tell my body is off balance wise, and up until about 10lbs ago my ankles would bother me if I ran or walked more then about 2 miles. So, that being said, again, I'm trying to do this in stages so I don't go to far to fast. I've been doing push ups and working out with a bar at home for the past few months. My main goal has been to get some endurance back in my muscles. Now with my diet. I'm still not 100% sure of what I'm going to do. I'm either going to do Atkins, or do more of what I'm doing now. Cutting out fast food, pop(still drink diet), drinking more water/milk/juices, eating more fruit, and whole grain stuff.

Well, been a while since we've posted on here, so here goes. Right now I'm holding around 260lbs, but I'm up to swimming about 25 minutes when I go to the pool. So, overall my cardio has greatly improved over the 5 minutes I could do when I started. Right now I feel I'm about 25lbs overweight, so my new goal is 235lbs instead of 220lbs. When I was in HS after lifting weights for a few months I was at 235lbs and had a fairly flat stomach. I'm about an 1" taller now, and I've filled out some, so 235lbs now, should, hopefully, be more like 225-235lbs then. Plus you add in about 2-3 months of swimming and I should tighten up.

I've heard that a GOOD month will gain you 1lb of muscle. Most body builders can't do more then that without a little..... help.

Since I last posted in early spring, I've dropped another 8lbs, bringing me down to 210. It gets harder to lose weight as you go I think...

I've also been going to the gym and lifting a few weights, which will make my wight loss misleading. I'm hoping that cardio exercises help balance that out.

My goal is still 200lbs.

Well, I've finally started my diet back up. I've gained back a few lbs over the past couple of months. I really have not dieted much since like June. I'm confident I can maintain whatever weight I get to. Right now, I'm somewhere around 260(gained back about 8lbs), and hope that by Thanksgiving I'm down around 240-245lbs, and then by Christmas I'm at 230lbs. If so, then I can give it one final push in Jan. and reach my goal of 220lbs. It's taken a lot longer then I thought, which is my fault. It's funny, you don't think of eating as a "treat" until you've been on a diet for a few months. Then all of a sudden, that food is back in your face, and it's oh so good. Last night we had bacon and eggs, don't really know what we'll eat tonight, probably something like a roasted chicken and green beans.

Try visiting GNC store, they have some good supplements from hydroxycut to whey protein, you can get something to help with: Muscle growth, weight loss, joints and ligaments, memory and other stuff like that.

No; I mean from the handful of messages that are always at the top of the Powder Keg, regardless of when they were last posted in.

Great work people! Take it from some who almost died Nov 15th. CHF, you can't afford it. I have found two things that have helped me lose 22 lbs and feel better. One, a Chronobiotic diet [ foods eaten at the right times of the day] timed by your biological clock, and knowledge out side of the mainstream media.
yesnomaybe.net and the Westen A Price foundation, which dispels myths and propaganda about nutrition. Many of the drugs I HAVE to take now are dangerous, so don't get to that point, stay in shape, Eat alot of venison, and grass fed animals, fruits nuts and veggies.

I've got a feeling that since everyone is probably not going to diet or try to drop lbs(I'm guilty of this) until after the holidays are over, I'll wait until then and start up another transformation thread to help support each other. Hopefully Chris will tack that one also and we'll be good to go.
