Is that a brand new rig? How much does one like that sell for? Let me know if you need a co-driver for a weekend some time, huh?

They serial numbered it as a 2010. Had little over 700 miles on it. They piggy back some other truck up from Texas with it. Cost was $124,000.

Nice price! I got mine for 40.000,- used. The market crashed, so that was a good deal which made it possible for me. A year ago it would sell for 70.000,-, and when new in 2001 sticker price was some 250.000,-... But that's with the cabinet, side doors and 2,5 ton lift.

There are no new US trucks around here. I looked into getting a used Peterbilt, but it was just to much trouble getting it registered

When I used to drive TT's,my favorite ones were the Ford LTL9000 series with the 350 Cat engine.Three stage Jake, and an Eaton 13 speed.
The ones I hated the most were the International S series. The cab design sucked and they tended to rust out real easy. The only good thing was the Big Cam Cummings engines.

Must've been built in Denton. I am still (sort of) employed by the sister company that transports the Pete's an K-Whoppers. Our co. transports most of the other brands.

I chose several listed and other. I'm not a trucker but realized years ago that the trucks and the drivers is how and why we get/got the goods we need, use and want to and from. Since though and due to gas and oil prices other means have become more popular and cost effective. But I think we'll always use and need the big rigs. I mean, I just don't see any trains or any other form of delivery system running where the ice road truckers do? lol And that Lisa is one fine looking ice road trucker is I do say so myself...

I loved building semi models. Always thought they were tough to build and enjoyed them for that reason. Plus, there was a lot of options and space to paint them in some pretty cool ways.

But I chose Kensworth, Peterbuilt, Frefightliner and Westernstar as they've all built some great rigs. And the other choice I made was because it wasn't listed and they too have had a great history in the semi/rig business and made some workhorses. That other being MACK.

I joined the majority in voting Peterbilt

Can't say why in particular other than there is just something eye catching about them coming down the road.

This is a German 2001 mod. MAN TGA 26.410 6x2 LL XXL with a 12 liter 6-syl. diesel. 410 HP is way plentyful for a singel vehicle. We have speed restrictors on all large trucks (max 60 mph), and the speed limit for heavy vehicles is 50 mph anyways. Max total weight for this single vehicle is 58.000 Ibs. I have mounted an ordinary tow bar (max trailer weight 7800 Ibs) since I use it mostly for trade fairs and our own transport needs. The box is 31 ft long, 8'3" wide and 9"3' high, inside. The whole rig towers a formidable 13'5" above ground, so I have to check out bridges undercrossings really carefully...

Here you can see how we've rigged it at a trade fair recently. This weekend actually:

Just started rigging. The wooden platform weighs a formidable 3,5 tons, but will dry up to about half that in 4-6 months. I made the staircase all on my own! I'm rather proud of it...

The stand from the outside. The truck is in there, somewhere...

Yep! There it is!

Under the canopy.

The only stand at the fair with a second floor!

Inside the box, which has room for a complete outdoors clothing shop. Here's some of the clothes we sell. Some excellent and affordable hunting outfits indeed! (Brand: Pinewood).

Reindeer pelts to the left.

We carry a lot of hunting stuff with us such as clothing, electronic ear protections (Sordin), hunting radios (Lafayette) and so on. And from next year and on we'll even bring a nice Browning guns exibition with us!
Man's that's impressive! The only thing I've ever seen like that is a similar sized truck in an old Popeye the Sailor cartoon thatwould open out into a full department store. But you've done it in the real world. Hat's off to ya, chum.
