School's "Tuck in Shirt Policy" and Guns (Video)

My mom sent me this video. Kind of puts it into perspective. Just an interesting video. I have always supported school uniforms, never thought of this though.

I put it up on my FTP for you to check out:

I'm for dress codes but not uniforms. Simple guidelines that people have to dress within allow freedom while respecting dignity. When I went to private school and they had uniforms, some families had a hard time buying an extra week of clothes. Plus there are more important areas of discipline than the color or collar of a shirt, as long as it's modest.

Well I am not saying "Dress Code" as in hardcore uniforms. But, business casual would be fine. Slacks, black/brown shoes, black/brown socks, solid color polo or button-up shirt. And they aren't that expensive. Go to K-Mart or Wal-Mart, you can get all that for a total of about $30-$50 for a kid. The "can't afford it" is an old argument, imo. When these people can buy designer jeans, expensive tennis shoes, team-sport shirts/jerseys, cell phones, IPODs, Latptop computers, etc....they can spend $30 on some business casual dress.

But, if school truely is to prepare you for life, shouldn't it be more realistic...I can't wear baggy pants and sport jerseys to the office....

Business casual makes sense. An objective standard with room for different budgets and variations.

I just wonder after pulling all of that out from his waistband how his pants didn't fall down. But yea, school dress code is something worth consideration.

Never trust a man with a gimp. Either he has a real gimp, or he has a shotgun down his pants.

Thumbs up

School authorities have no business requiring certain clothes to be worn. That was settled in federal court.
