Universal parts

Anyone know where to get spare parts for a Universal m1 carbine? I'm going to field strip mine and clean it well, but for some reason the clip is not secure when placed and if I don't hold the clip tight into the gun it causes jams.

Universal Carbine

One spring or two? If two then this is a late (er) model and like most commercial guns each part is fitted to the rifle. Some will have a 1 inch thick cast aluminum trigger housing with steel pins. Pins wear out the holes. Some Universals have a bolt lockdown problem allowing the rifle to fire with the bolt only 3/4 closed. Its really loud when fired this way.If one spring, then it might take GI parts or it might not. Always have the headspace checked every 500 rounds. Go onto CMP page and buy a GI gun and you'll have a safe rifle and a tiny bit of history to boot.
