i copied a section of the proposed assualt weapons ban ans it says sks with detachable clip but if you buy it with a fixed clip witch they all come with that will still be legal right??? so all you really have to do is stock up on the detachable mags for the sks . because the way i read it is theyjust are clasifiying the asault weapon as a gun with the detachabe mag. and they name the "sks with detachable magazine" in specific they don't say sks with detachable magazine and fixed magazine. here is a full reading of the assualt weapons ban.

Goodness ... Why the heck do they label the M1 Carbine as an "Assault Weapon". The gun barely brings down small deer, and if they're going off on the high-cap mag, then they might as well call my ruger 10/22 an assault weapon as well!!!

All someone has to do is remind them that Bobby Kennedy was killed with a .22, and they'll be off and running.

RFK was killed with a .22 revolver...if they ban .22 revolvers and up, we'll have nothing left to shoot. Heck, there are pellet rifles now that fire faster than a .22 revolver

That's exactly what they do in HR 1022.
Stop talking like this ban is a foregone conclusion. Make it clear that you won't stand for it, and that you will vote, speak, and use your funds accordingly.

I just read all that, that tommy posted and to me thats the biggest joke I've ever read. Just because the firearms listed (I guess) look frightening to a handful of anti-gun turds. They want to ban them, there really no different than my hunting guns other than the shape of them and maybe the amount of ammo they hold.
The last entry on the list really concerns me, any semiauto with detachable clip...Men and Ladys we needs to write our sens & cons today
to fight this. Next thing it will be bolt-action rifles...A.H

The Semi's are about to metamorphose into machine-guns, as the media has been labeling them for years, and some States consider them now.

well look at it this way if they do ban the guns they want this round next they will have a whole diferent kinda muder to investigate. instead of them useing handguns they will get themselvs a nice high powered rifle and hit the guy from 800 yrds away and the peopl will never be able to give a plate number or desciption of the shooter because they will never know who he was ore where he was. all they will know was the guy standing next to him's chest suddenly exploded .or his head blossomed out like a big red flower in the spring time only not really as nice to look at.lol

A friend of mine who says he has read the full version of HR1022 says it gives him the impression that it could be "interpeted at will" to mean any firearm that holds more that a single round of ammo. If that is true it would be the same as the Austrailians have to live with since their law passed a few years ago.

Angry

Just remember - Gun Control isn't about the guns - it's all about CONTROL.
If we back off and give them an inch, they'll take the whole nine yards!
Vote smart - and lets put these Gun Grabbers in the unemployment line.
Let them know that passing this bill or any other similar is a ticket to that line.

Altho all gun control is unconstitutional, the federal laws arent near as frightening to me as state and local. They slip past the second ammendment, mainly because everyone is watching federal, but seldom pay attention to state/local until it is passed and then once passed the people cant get it reversed. So you may easily defeat federal laws and claim a big victoty, only to find according to fed.law you can do or posess something but not in the state you live in.Witness:New York,Illinoise,Colorado,California,Hawaii. And others. sam.
