Commiserate with me! The Missus and I went off to the trade days selling and trading pasture and one of the gents there had a extremely clean and well maintained M1 Carbine for sale, while not a WWII or Korean edition it was in VGC albeit there were a few stock dings and such from scabbard wear and all. ASKING PRICE: $300.00 Balance in MY checking acct: $4.00 Level of stress involved resisting the urge to put it on the Visa Card: BP 299/120. Maybe he'll still have it next month (yeah right) |

I feel your pain. There is a big gun show in town today and I have an account balance about like yours. Anyway, I figured I would not even bother going as I would find a good deal like you did and have to pass it up! Couldn't bear the pain! Maybe next show, heck this show happens every 6 months!! |

I feel your pain I also had that dreadful experience!I no longer go anywhere that the trinkets I must have are displayed, without a pocket of hundred dollar bills.Credit cards are a BIG no-no for trinket buying for me also.

If it is a Universal Carbine you are better off without it... IF it is a U.S. Military one...put it on the visa Card ! Rich

Beer Good, Guns Better, Frisky Missus BEST! UGH! My best redition of cave man speak, others may quote without reservation ![]() Well Moose it was a Universal but if I got my figures right an older one, seller claimed it was from an old local constable that carried it in addition to his sidearm and shotgun.... Seemed to be in excellent shape and very well took care of . Last edited by ezearln; 05-20-2007 at 01:14 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

US M1 carbines are the shiznack! I've got one, and although it jams sometimes, its still one of the most fun guns I own. |

Your not doing it the American way. What I see is charge it then worry about how to pay is the real American way.

I still say stay away from the Universals...Can't get parts anywhere. Stick with U.S. Military for value and parts availability ! Rich
