I know what you mean, my wife won't let me use her 94 Mustang GT convertable to go hunting and fishing in! Go figure!

My favorites in the big boys were the 350 Cummings run at 8% over pressure on the fuel supply I had the truck pushing out extra horses and that 10 speed was a ton of fun. Of course my heavy hauler had a detroit deisel with an allison tranny and the 8v71 blower she would haul a D11 up any ridge I wanted.

Stock Doc- My experience with Fords is completelly the opposite. I've been amazed at how easy it is to get parts for my Bronco II, which is basically a shortened, enclosed Ranger. Apart from certain parts I had to replace due to neglect by the previous owners, it runs great. Sure it has its quirks, but it's never let me down... Except for when the battery blew up in my ex-girlfriend's driveway.

I like your style Mr. Colt 45. Someday, when I get a job that will support all my hobbys, I plan for a V-8 Dakota. Always love Dodges and all things MOPAR. Sadly, the costs are beyond my convincing myself to buy. As long as I have wheels that do not break, well, I can't justify the added expense. But, someday!

Just fixed the small rust spots on the lower quarters, sanded the quarters then applied Duplicolor spray on truckbed liner to seal the lower half. Don't look too bad. Dries real nice and hard with a semi-gloss texture. Try it. Just hit 31,000 miles yesterday, not bad for an '87. Brown bombs looking ok.

I am stuck in an '92 Escort right now. I used to have an '88 Mustang LX 5.0, but that burned Dec. 24, 2001. I was planning to sell the Escort and buy a truck, but I lost my Mustang, so I want to replace that first. We'll see what happens. As for Ford, I am a Ford man, born and raised. I was a Ford mechanic for a hair under 4 years, but that just came to an end. As for Ford trucks, how bad can they be if they are the best selling full size trucks for the past 20+ years(I thinks its that long). I am pretty sure Rangers have been number one for quite awhile too. For the record, Mavericks with built up V8's rule....

Hey TheTroll, a 408 with a 350 shot of spray??? That is a whole lot of juice. I am guessing that is a 2 or 3 stage kit. What does that thing run in the 1/4? If it has the right suspension, I am guessing low 10s...If you wouldn't mind, you want to give a run down on your car/combo?

I've driven a lot of stuff, over the years, both good and bad. Two years ago, on my birthday, I finally sprung for the truck I'd been wanting. F250 Super Duty, Extra Cab, Lariat with the Power Stroke! Never looked back. Best truck I've ever had... Pulls a 35' fifth wheel camper like it wasn't even back there...

Yikes, lucky it was 0600 hrs and no one was on the road. Just had gotten off work saturday morning, doing 50 mph and the light turns red, put on brakes...NO BRAKES!!! Go flying right through intersection!! Finally got the brown bomb stopped and get out and look around. Brake line had broke that ran along the frame connecting front and back brakes! After kissing the ground, creeped to the nearest B.P. service center and had them fix it! Used their mensroom to..had to clean my pants out! $169.00 later back on the road!

Well the "brown bomb" strikes again. 50 miles from home, checking out a fishing area I'd never been to the da*n old thing wouldn't start. Tryed to get it going for 1/2 an hour, no luck. Thankfully the wife was with me and had her cell phone and AAA card. Waited 1 hr for a tow so we just kicked back under the trees and enjoyed the scenery. 10 yrs ago I would have got hopping mad and kicked the crap out of the old truck. Anyway It's back at the B.P. station and will get the damage report tomorrow. It will be a good truck SOMEDAY!

$287.00 dollars more...If this keeps up my "bargain" won't be much of one anymore. Bad fuel pump and waterpump. Noticed a big puddle in the front while it was sitting waiting for the wrecker. Had noticed it before but thought it was a lower hose. Thats whats been making that grinding noise since the second day I had it! My dad always said expect to put a grand in a used car before its right. On $800 now. $3,200.00 total now with 31,000 miles on it. Still worth it so far.

Sure ya don't want a 327 or a 350? 305'S are okay if you wanna tweak them a little.

sorry had to go to J C Whitney's website... yeah 350 crate engine, Automatic transmission, dual exhaust, headers, high rise intake, two 2 barrel carbs (possibly 3 with the linkage kit...gotta do a feasibility study), serious stereo so you can feel Run DMC two blocks away if I feel like it...
