My son fortunitly never got in trouble at school for fighting and he was in many, yet he never started any of them.
He went to school, where some would call a "white flight" school thats out of the city limits of our city.
If he'd went to school in the city he and who he fought would of been in serious trouble, so I recon where you might live makes a big differents on the degree of punishment...On another note when he was a school teacher and a bully picked on another student and the bully was getting his AZZ whopped my son would take his time breaking up the fight where bully could learn a lesson...A.H
p.s. my little 6' 3" baby is a cop now bustten them mean little bastids !!!!

Ah 1973, I was in the 4th Grade, the hippy culture was going full force, those were much different times then today. Life just wasn't as complicated back then, if you got into a fight at school, you were suspended for 1 day, now, if you get into a fight at school, you can end up in police custody, times have changed! and I'm not so sure its for the best.

In 1973 I got out of the service at the age of 24 and started sitting in a corner, quietly listening to my hair grow.

It did me good...after a couple of years I cut the hair short enough to keep it out of my eyes, and went on with life.

In 1973, I was still 8 years in the making.

...but my father was one year back from duty in the USAF stationed in Tan Son Nhut AFB, Saigon, Vietnam.

Yup! My DoB is in my profile.

My parents 'started late', as I was their first of two children. My father was 35 and my mother 33. But, it allowed them to get their degrees, take a trip around Europe, start their careers, and set up a stable home for which to raise children.

I personally think more people should do that; have a stable financial and emotional home situation before ever considering having children. We'd be a better society for it.

i don't, me and my wife had ours early on for the sake of being able to handle the challenges that come with children. we do more with our children than the standard family, we identify more with the perspectives of our children, and we still have the energy to do all the activities that our children enjoy. we got married in 1995 and decided that we wanted to do the kids thing up front. that way we could still be young enough to fully enjoy the times with the kids and grandkids. while still being young enough for the adventures after they're gone to be more than just site seeing! and we weren't financially secure.(i don't even believe in cristianity i have have more hope and faith than that)sometimes you just go and know that no matter what your doing your best and thats all you can do. sometimes you just have to have faith in yourself.
i live differently than most and i understand that, but i don't think the world will be worse because others do it the way we did it! as a matter of fact people always comment on how much more well behaved our children are than most of the others around us. it's not because anyone waited longer or anything like that it's just because we raise them more consistently. if its wrong it's always wrong .not it's wrong this time but if i'm tired of getting on to you i'll let it go so try again in a minute!or ok i cant get on to my child because someone may report me.
look if you turn out good its because the mentality of your parents and their type of parenting was good. not because of the timing of their pregnancy or because you went to church or because your family had money. it's love, support, consistency, and good moral values. period. what if you never have all your dreams come to fruition and your spouse gets killed in an accident.
o well maybe i'll find another soulmate or love of my life there must be hundreds out there!(sarcasm intended)
i'm sorry, justacar, i dont mean to seam like i'm attacking you if it comes across that way, i just do not agree

and i was married before we decided to try to get her pregant and raise children!(just to clarify)

I graduated in 1967. In my day, if you wanted to get sloppy drunk and sick, you drank Thunderbird wine:

What's the Word?
Thunderbird.
What's the price?
Twenty twice.
What's the reason?
Grapes are in season!

But nobody drank Thunderbird in mixed company. If you were out on a double date, you brought a six-pack of beer for you and your buddy. For the young ladies, you supplied a six-pack of Coke and a bottle of Sloe Gin. Then you went Boonie-hopping through the byways and back ways, glorying in your wickedness...
