I've been busy lately with my Lee Classic and have got about 1000 ea of .45,.223.12 ga. I have existing stores of 750 ea .223, and 250 ea of Federal .45acp, and 5000 rounds of .22. My remote box has a collection of the best of these calibers, mostly Black Hills ammo. I'm finally to the point of making more than I'm shooting, and that's a great thing, knowing that I and millions others don't have to wait until Wally world opens. Stock up for future events now! Don't get me started on the food, medicine, water, horses, shelter and other devices. You can never have too much, and I'm doing bench presses again, honey.

Every one seems to be planning for a social break down. In short of natural disaster what is the probability of this happening. oesnt it seem more likely we would have to defend our selves against foreign attack? I see the large stock pile of weapons and ammo, but how much can a guy carry? What abbout food, firstaid, supplies to make shelter, and most important potable water? Also having enough weapons to arm a small army is great, does anyone know enough people to organize a millitia? Small fast moving attack groups seem to me atleast the only way for us non-millitary, (meaning we havn't acces to mobile armor or even full auto asault weapons) to effectivly defend our land. How does a person carry tenthousand rounds of 308, or even 223 rounds, plus essential goods and be fast?

i live with my back to the swamp so i am gonna stay in my home. if someone comes thay are gonna have to come through a open field on two sides and if they come at the wronge time of the year when the cane is high they will just have to come right down the center of the street .lol but to me the greatest thing that i stockup for is huricanes they put us out of comission everyyear and they seems to be getting stronger every year. yu ever seen that movie "southern comfort".lol it's impossible to track someone in muddy waterwaste deep so unless your from down here you won't last long. the vietcong would use them pungie sticks but down here i came up with a neat little killer if needed . you see everyone down here knows not to run through the swamp bacuse of the cypress knees. well what i do is i would take it a step further and sharpen them to a fine point that way they are sure to get you.one trip and your gone.lol just set up an ambush and pop off a few rounds and them guys will dive for cover and when they do they are human shishcabobs. but getting back to the subject i would just stay home as long as possible and try to form a street gang most people on my street hunt or shoot guns so it would be a good gang there or no thugs and like i said the invaders would pretty much have to come down the center of the street to get in.

Some of you guys have some serious ammo, and guns, I like that!
For me I usually only have just a couple of hundred rounds for each gun that I own. I also am a reloader so I always have powder, primer and bullets on hand. I also have some molds on hand but very little lead, as I don't regularly cast bullets.
As some have stated, how many guns can you carry if it really gets bad and you have to bug out. I have 8 guns for that situation. 4 rifles and 4 handguns, after all I have a wife and two kids. My kids would carry a 22 cal rifles and 22 cal handguns and my wife and I would have 9 mm. She is comfortable using her shotgun and I would take a hunting rifle probably in 308. For those guns I have thousands of rounds.
To be truthful I think that for putting food on the table in bad times the 22's would be the most useful.

I reload and have about 40K of what I shoot. I really do it since we do have the possibility of Ammuniton bans, shortages, or tax on each round

alot talk about how many guns you can carry . but what about if you got out on a trip when something happens and you just happen to get into a fire fight and happen to loose a weapon ?if your one of the lucky one's like most uf us with multple guns you can always try to make it back home and get another one. like they say don't keep all your eggs in the same nest.

I'd like to keep 1k rounds of .223, 7.62x39, 9mm, .45, and .40 at all times. Then another 500 rounds of .308, and a few hundred rounds of 12 gauge also. Of course then you add in 7.62x54R, .30-06, .30-30, 7.62x25(think thats right), ammo for my Mausers... Anyways, I'd say I need about 8-10k rounds total.

10,000+/-, mine is not really a stock pile though, just ready reserve. i shoot quite a bit more than this in a year. i'd run out of room if i had to hoard it.

Every so often I send a hundred bucks to Georgia Arms for some of that Lake City ammo for the ol' M1 Carb, packed 50 to a plastic bag. I can pack about 800 rounds into a 7.62 can. I don't know how many rifle, pistol and shotgun cartridges I have and won't count 'em today. I always need more.
Regarding invasion vs. social breakdown, it doesn't matter - it could be both, at the same time or one after the other. I'd expect a breakdown in society in this country to lead to another world war anyway.
