Semper Fi and all that but you have an imgination. You want to climb the mountain up to where I live for whatever you will get based on a gamble, be my guest and if you are being shot at, you won't know it, because you will never hear the gun go off.

As far as wanting what I have, how the Hell would you even know? You would be hungry and tired and probably be going after them easy targets, I ain't an easy target and what I got ain't worth your life to get it. I am on FAMILIAR territory and you wouldn't be. There is but one way up this mountain and but two ways back down. People are not going to waste their time going after maybes. People are going to be looting the big stores and then the warehouses will be next. Many will be killed as they try either and their may not be a lot of enforcement, but there will be some, even in the worst case sceniro there will be enforcement or even a Military curfew. The weak will die off or be killed off. The strong and stupid will be next, the strong and smart will be the last to go along with the weak and smart. I am pretty sure I have NOTHING to worry about.

i hear ya. but who says you'll hear the shot ?? you have to think like a intruder. they can wait you out.you'r gotta sleep sooner or later.i just like to be prepared look at what happened down here after katrina. most of the cops couldn't do anything and if you could find a workin phone to call they wouldn't come anyway. don't trust anyone and you'll be ok. it don't matter if the house is empty a starving person will look just to see if there was any food in it you might know there is nuthin but the other guy don't.

In the situation you all are discribing the folks with brains were prepared and what is left is the DARWIN AWARD folks. People with brains are going for LONG TERM solutions and not the loot as you go scenerios. I would not expect anybody with brains to try and storm my house. I would have to resort back to the "WOULD YOU EAT YOUR BUDDY" thread and reconsider whether I would have FRESH MEAT or not.....

i treat everyone like they are smart. now me i would rather have a nice stockpile of ammo just incase.i have a good rifle to pick them off from a distance but i would rather avoind shooting at anyone until i know they are hostile. the bad thing is you'll never know until they get to you that they are hostile.if someone was to come to my house to get in or take it over i think popping off 2or3-40 round mags from the ak's from each window will make them think twice. i have a ak for each family member and i have a few hundred rounds for each gun .as for as smart and dumb people it don't take a rocket scientist to shoot a gun most killers are very smart people with above avaerage IQ's . now what would be a good thing to do if the sdhtf. is to stock up on black powder and tracer ammo. with the powder you can make a few exsplosives and place them around the property fill it whith nails or what ever metal you can find . then when someone does come hit the taget with your rifle and wam!!! explosions will run people off alot faster than a gun shot will and like you said they will never hear the shot so they will or might think the place is mined lots of fishing string and some black spray piant will make for a scary situation. set yourself out some human trout lines that way when they come running or even if they are walking them black hooks hanging from trees are hard to see but they can yank out and eyeball . i like to fight dirty.lol

Killers normally may have a Higher IQ, I don't know that and I have never heard that. What you are describing is everyone being thrown into a situation without CHOICE. So as I said, the ones who will be stalking and storming homes would be the DARWIN AWARD folks. Smart people are prepared and doing something that will benefit them in the Long Term.

My stockpile of ammo is for trips to the range. Sometimes I take the trailer and spend the weekend and shoot up a few thousand rounds. Wen I get back, I reload so I dont have to worry about going the next time.

does anyone know how long you can safly store shotgun shells before the powder goes bad?? i have been thinkin of getting a few hundred rounds for the mossberg but i didn't want to get them if they are gonna go bad real soon.you see i really don't shoot my guns because of the neck problems so really whatever ammo i buy it will most probably just sit there until a friend comes over to shoot my stuff or my son wants to pop off a few rounds. but i have been thinkin of getting a few boxs of buckshot and a boat load of bird shot. maybe even sone slugs too.

No ones memtioned destruction to prevent enemy use. With such an arsenal, one can carry so much, gas will be nonexistence, supply cut of. unless you have a pack mule, when the last time you climbed a mountain? lots of luck. I certently don't want my own weapons used against me, my family or neighbors. Simple removal of bolt or firing mech will do that trick. I even thought of building an ole bunker, no good unless you have a field of fire from another bunker to cover each other with a perimeter. I picked up several pounds of flechets (small darts) to load in 12 Ga rounds. I simply love those things, bleeds em out like a sponge, not too messy either. Load my own. Havn't bought store ammo in a very long time. May not have great knock down but perp will wish he had. Forget getting medical help, one becomes an expectant.
