Good point Dceptive240,
I don't see How I am affecting anybody else if I smoke a joint or Snort some Cocaine , or even smoke some Opium in my own home...Same as if I want to get Drunk on Whiskey...I'm affecting Me and Only Me.
If I earn my own money, I should be able to spend LEGAL TENDER anyway I feel like . Pharmaceutical drugs have so many Bad Side effects , they seem to be worse poisons, and they are legal. Last time we had a vote on legalizing Marijuana the Alaska State Troopers Were FOR legalization. Why you ask? Because it Costs a lot More Money and ties up Troopers when they could be investigating other more serious Crimes, Like Going after The Meth Labs that seem to be plaguing every state in the Union and is a "Real Poison" as well as the Hazardous/ Explosive Nature of the waste and the Ingredients. Not once have they had a problem raiding a Marijuana Grow House up here, the growers are Docile and Harmless for the most part. But it takes Hours for the Troopers to tear Down grow Lights and cut all the weed and trim and weigh it for court, like they are required to do and haul all the Evidence to a warehouse that rivals Costco in size.... Oh, and we can Legally possess 1/4 Pound of Marijuana in our Homes for personal use here in Alaska, but since you can't grow it or Buy it legally, it is called a Miracle Law, cause its a Miracle how you git it ! Nobody is Going Crazy , Killing people, or Robbing people for Weed Money up here, It just doesn't happen...People use it Socially up here and to help make it through the Cold ,Dark Winters. Alcohol,on the other Hand is the Number 1 Problem in Alaska, causing FAS, Drunk Driving, and Domestic Violence or Murder in over 75% of those types of Cases. Yet Alcohol is Legal...

Genesis 1:29...And God said," Behold, I have given you every Herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the Earth, and every Tree, in the which is the fruit of the tree yielding seed, to you it shall be for meat."
So God gave it to us, The Government takes it away....

I'm not the kind of guy that is unable to make concessions, I am willing to talk things out and understand the other side of an argument.

I've written an overwhelming amount of facts here how such a thing can negatively effect others, even if it is not intended to. Most of us know the effect on family and friends of an alcoholic or a drug addict. You don't have to be there while they are under the influence to be effected negatively by it.

I've got a lot more examples of how people are effected negatively by substance abusers, and quite a few personal experiences showing how substance abuse can effect others in a negative way, but I will refrain from any further comments here on this topic. Freedom should not be the ability to ruin the lives of people around you, directly or indirectly, period. None of you supporters apparently know what the effects of a true substance abuser has on others. You may have been a pot head in high school or whatever, but you stopped. There is a big difference between you and an alcoholic or a drug addict. You should be idolized for being able to have escaped that habit, truely.

I just see the negative effects of substance abusers on others nearly every day and to increase that effect on everyone and society is wrong, in my opinion.

Exactly Dope dealers deal in death and misery, selling poison to week-minded individuals, who need a crutch in order to make it in Life another day.Broken life's,broken Families and death, like a knife or bullet that's grounds for execution in my thinking.

weed is a federal law, we have wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too many federal laws, alaska and california have no reason to be lumped under the same laws. i know alot of people who smoke weed, my friends mom smokes it, and she's an accountant or somethin in a bank, and isn't a pothead. it is very possible to use drugs responsibly

murderers? that's like holding the hi-point company responsible for murder because some murders were committed with their guns. if you choose to misuse drugs IT IS YOUR OWN FAULT, NOT THE DEALER'S.

crazy ivan, you keep saying how drug ABUSERS hurt other people. you surely can't say that gun abusers dont hurt people more

closed minds are the single biggest threat to this nation. too many self centered people wanting to pretend they know what they're talking about. when half the people they know and respect are probably doing, not just the soft drugs, but the hard ones as well, with no ill effect to "society". sometimes just the opposite. they pretend to know things when all they truly know is what someone else predisposed them to believe!
you want scripture... it's still the same argument as i've been presenting all along but you still pretend to have a right to force others to live a life you deem proper but how about these and they are from the pages of your own Bible...

"Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged:"

"Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."

answer me this......

have you ever used God's name in vain.
have you ever embarrassed your parents?(dishonored)
have you ever had sex outside of marriage or cheated on your spouse? (at all)
are you homosexual? (sorry if you are nothing personal but it is one of the things GOD has said to be worthy of judgment)
do you partake of pornography?
do you over indulge in alcohol enough to be considered a drunkard? (yes, i do believe this would include anything including drugs thats used in "excess")
have you ever lied?
have you ever stolen anything?
do you submit fully of yourself unto Jesus Christ?

if your guilty of any of these sins that GOD himself deems worthy of judgment,
then you have no right to judge others for their trespasses!

Jesus let a harlot be a harlot and turned water to wine....it's passing judgment, and the abuse of the wine ( or drugs ) that is wrong!

and thanks texasT thats my boy right there, if you'd like check my other threads and there's some pics of my daughter as well. surprisingly even a "doper" can raise well adjusted kids.

and joelee a tip from a"doper" that's "dumbed down" from the "drugs" he's done in his life...

it's "DELUSIONS OF GRANDUER"
