Do any of you guys have experience with the old CH brand dies and if so, what do you think of them? I'm looking into a set on EBAY but am trying to decide whether I want to bid on them or not. I know that Hornady bought them out but I don't know if they are the same or comparable to Hornady's dies. Anything I should know about them-ie: the good, the bad, or the ugly?

hornady titanium dies don't require lube!

unless you can pick them up for $10 a set, i would just buy new ones. dies do wear out, and you have no way of telling how much use they got.

That's what I use to load for my Star Super that I modified to shoot .38 Supers in. They are great dies but the ones that I'm looking at are rifle dies. I take it you took my advice on the dies for your new toy? That sliding chamber in the Hornady seater dies make a big difference when loading short, squatty, pistol bullets. I love my Hornady dies, that's why I'm hoping these CH dies are comparable.

Yeah, these look to be practically unused and the current bid is only $7.00 but I'm not sure what the machining quality was when they were made. I'm leaning towards just buying a set of Reddings for $31.00 @ Cabelas and not having to mess with the whole EBAY hassle.
