Perhaps you'd like to look at this one...

Ruger Riflestocks and Accessories - Advanced Technology, Inc.

The purists will holler because it is a synthetic 'black' stock. I have one on my Marlin and like it pretty well. Everybody knows by now that I work for the manufacturer of this stock, but please, before everybody hollers at me, I'm NOT trying to sell, just informing you that it this alternative is out there. To be very objective, if you have large hands, the 'thumbhole' grip isn't big enough to fit you comfortably. There simply isn't enough room to get your hand in the stock.

One thing is for sure...I've held the stock you're already considering and I have to urgently stress that you'll HATE it. It feels like a toy, and coming from someone that makes polymer stocks, that should tell you something. It is the CHEAPEST plastic made.

Scot, not to beat you or ATI up, but when are you guys going to do something about that abortion of a stock for the Mausers? That's got to be the ugliest, most awkward feeling stock I've ever seen or held. I like the idea of the integral scope mount but it's so high above the bore that it's pretty well useless. I'd love to see ATI build a plain, reasonably proportioned hunting-type stock for the military Mausers but I just can't deal with that monstrosity you've got now.

Scot Van I'll never hollar at you and I'm glad your a member here...I know there are Mauser stocks on the market but the one yall sale is to futuristic looking for my taste. I'd love to have a syn. classic style for my 1909 Argentine Mauser CARBINE.
Another thing no one has ever been able to tell me and it is. Is the carbine the same barrel measurements as the rifle. Other than the length, are the steps at the same location on the carbine as the rifle.

TOOLMAN, I guess you'd be referring to this:

Bought mine a few years back and have had my ups and downs with it, it is not a good choice for a hunting gun IMO because it is just too heavy and it is hard to get comfortable with a scope because it sits so stinkin high that even the addition of the high comb cheek piece doesn't raise your head high enough. There are some other small issues with it but overall it is well made for the price and seems very sturdy but I agree it is not a stock for everyone.

That's my two cents.

That'd be the one ICEMAN. I've handled several ove the last few years and tried to convince myself that it was just me. I've come to the conclusion that it's not me, they are FUGLY, they are awkward, and they just flat don't have any business in my safe. I even tried shooting my buddy's gun with one. He is pretty accurate with it but apparently, I hold the gun differently and my group was 4" to the left and about 3/4" lower than his. I love that good "tip-of-chin weld you get also! It kind of reminds me of a mule a neighbor had. He used to joke that "she aint pretty, she won't work, she's mean, and she eats a lot. Other than that she's a damm fine mule."

That's funny and I understand completely your point.

Anyway back to the OP's question, my friend bought a 10/22 with one of those stocks installed and he really liked it (but he only had it a couple of weeks). I personally thought it was made pretty cheap and hated the flimsy way they connected the front trigger to the actual trigger now relocated in the buttstock .

I know we won't sway you if you have your heart set on the "cool bullpup" style but now you know what your getting!

Hey! Oww! My feelings!

Just kidding. I'm not really sure what all went into that stock, man. I deal with L.E. and Military Sales, which means I'm dealing with the collapsible shotgun stocks, folders, stuff for the Mini14, AR, AK, etc. As far as our Enfield, SKS, Mosin Nagant, Mauser - type stuff, I'm not really in on the R&D.

Rest assured, I'll print this up and take 'er over to the head engineers desk! We're all on vacation until the 9th o' July, but I'll let you know how that discussion goes.

Thanks, AH! Argentinian Mauser generally means Spanish Mauser. They do things a little differently, and I know our stock will not fit the Spanish variety because they're odd. I honestly can't tell you the specifics, and suggest taking it in to your gunsmith.

Thanks man, it'd be nice not feeling like I needed to wash my hands every time I picked up my gun!
