We just watched the first four episodes of the "Jericho" series. The main story line so far is really good, some TV hokiness, but overall best SHTF stuff I ever saw. I think Mooseman praised it also.. Can't wait for the next disc to arrive.

I can't believe that none of you have mentioned The Edge with Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin. One of the best survival movies ever made

A made for TV movie, "The Day After"-- chilling in it's grim portrayal of the aftermath of a nuclear war.

Soon to be I AM Legend(hopefully). No one ever said it couldn't be surviving a vampire/zombie uprising!

OK, some folks mentioned the following and they all rock on a survival level:
Enemy Mine
Red Dawn
Rambo
The Edge (awesome and underrated/underseen)
All awesome survival movies, as well as many others. I just can't believe no one mentioned the entire LOST series. I never watched it before, but I actually watched the entire 1st, 2nd and 3rd series over the course of two weeks and it was awesome.
Other survival movies? Rescue Dawn, Deer Hunter, and BAT 19 (?).

After further consideration, I pick......The Die Hard series! Surviving terrorists is still survival!

In my version, I'd be rolling around naked in big piles of the Howell's money with Ginger and Mary Ann while the rest of the crew built us a new boat out of palm trees and monkey hide. Gilligan would be guarding them with the AK I had stashed in my suitcase after being bribed by the promise of a lifetime supply of bananas and an occasional peek at Ginger's tatoo. Oh yeah, the professor would be manning the whiskey still! That's what I call survival!
