Fortunately there are a lot of very fun accurate pistols in 22lr to choose from. Have fun looking at all the choices and enjoy the "chase" for the one that is right for you.

I have had a Ruger MkI, High Standard Sharp Shooter, S&W K17, Ruger Single Six and now have a S&W 22a. The only one I would not like to have back was the Single Six. Could not get that one to shoot straight.

All were and are great guns. The 22a is surprisingly accurate for a gun that can be bought for around $200. new.

So many choices to chose from, but what do you think about conversion kits? Is there anything wrong with a converting a higher caliber to a .22LR?

If you decide on a Walther P22, get the 5 inch barrel.
It seems that most malfunctions arise from the 3.4 barrel to which Walther has chosen to ignore any resolution.
It is a great pistol and very comfortable to shoot.
I have fired Winchester super X; Wildcat, CCI mini-mag, Federal HV, Thunderbolt, and American Eagle and all have an issue with the 3.4 inch barrel.

Calico M-100P or new version M-110 pistols.
100 rounds of .22LR keeps one VERY happy and the rabbits/squirrels VERY nervous
