i get all my guns for free.lol so for i got two ak's 1AR15/1-AMD65 A KELTEC.9MM i go to the dump with my son and we pick up scrap metal and then sell it at the end of the month and then i buy a gun with it i have a few other hand guns i bought with the money but i didn't list them . they are all going to be handed down to my youngest son if something happens to me.i'll post some pictures of the new one when i get it redone i done't like the rough finish on itso i'm gonna sand it and restain it them put some poly on it.
i got it locally. they have alot of them on the rack in all diferent kinds of setups. some with side folding stocks /underfolding stocks . they had a rpk but i settled for the sar1 with the bayo and mag pouch and oiler can for 407.00
I'm jonsin' for an RPK, myself. I'd like to 'trick it out' like an SVD with the SVD stock and the long flash-hider (perhaps use a long FAL hider), then slap either an 8x PSOP scope or just a normal scope with the side-rail adapter on top. I'd get the AES-10, but I'm worried that the barrel is so thin and long that the heat of repeated shooting would change the POA/POI.

Nice piece there!

the aes i seen at the gun store has a heavy duty barrel . it's real thick.they want 525.00 it's nice and the wood grain is real nice too. it's not all that smooth just like the new ak i got today . but the wood grain has potential .

Yeah, there's the AES-10, which has the bipod attached at the back of the barrel, and the AES-B "heavy barrel", which has the bipod attached at the front of the barrel.
Also, the AES-B has cooling fins near the back of the barrel, while the AES-10 does not.
The thing is, I really want a long-barreled AK and the AES-10 has a 23" barrel while the AES-B has a 21" barrel. I realize it's only 2", but I still like the long-barrel look to the AES-10, plus it's $70 cheaper! ($419 vs. $489)
I'm just so torn...

it was a aes-b i looked at i'm pretty sure. when i had it in my hands i was thinkin of some kinda muzzle brake to put on the end of it to dress it up a bit . but i do think it will be my next gun being it's the closest i'll get to a dragunov.lol

Hm, I know Century sends out the AES-10 without a break and the AES-B (or M72 RPK-style, on the CAI site) has a 45 degree break installed.
I can get the first for $419+ship+fees and the second for $489+ship+fees.
I was thinking very hard of getting one of these and installing a scope (with either a side-rail adaptor and nice variable zoom scope or just an 8x PSOP), a long SVD-style NDS Tabuk flash hider, and the finger-grooved SVD stock that BRG3 has for sale and pictured here. Man, that would be just as cool as an SVD, but just a weaker round (x39 rather than x54R)... though, better for follow-up shots!

Reason: Incorrect link for AES-B
they had it labled as a aes-b but it didn't have a slnt brake and the bipod was all the way to the end just like the aes-10. i looked at it a few days before i got my other ak. they might have miss labled it.

Well, if it is the AES-10, they're asking about $100 too much. Classic Arms, Inc has that for $419. If you want the heavier barrel AES-B, J&G Arms has it for $489. You could argue the shipping + transfer fee would make the difference, but then I'd argue the taxes would make that up to near equal.

i don't mind paying the extra i do figure it's for the ffl fees plus i figure i would keep him going rather than the greedy pawn shop down the road.this guy sells to respectable peoplewhere the pawn shop is a if you got the cash you got the gun type of place.
hey billy it really ain't no work i just go to the dump every day when i can and pickup the scrap metals and sell them with my son and walla a free gun amerges about a month anda half later.lol
Wow Tommy thats great but it's got me really curious, just how many tons of steel are you picking up in a month? I ask because I have hauled a ton of my scrap off a couple of times before and it didn't yield much moolah.
copper is 2.10 a pound and aluminum is .51 cents a pound and brass is 1.40 a pound you figure i live next to a dump where people throw away water heaters with the brass fittings walla they add up the old a/c's the coils are 1.18 a pound and the copper wires are all scrapped too . i just throw it all to the side till i got a load big enough to go to the scrap yard. oh yea you know them gas grills they are made out of cast aluminum and they weigh about 20lbs a piece and they pay .51 cents a pound for them and man they got one in there every day .thats 51 dollars every hundred pounds of aluminum and with the gas grill it don't take long. i snip all the cords off the freezers and washers and put them in a box and clean them .it all adds up. and my son helps out alot . after all he gets all the guns if something happens to me .
