Lol. This is exactly the reason everyone should have free healthcare. Look at the behaviors we're promoting...

just because some guy(who's not even overweight) can eat 66 hot dogs in 12 mins means i should have to pay for everyone else's health care? no thanks, i haven't had anything more than an office visit to get a temporary prescription since 02, why should i have to pay taxes for something i don't use? i'm all for having insurance, but it needs to be an option

You can say that now because you're young and healthy. Wait til you have ONE health problem that the insurance you pay for doesn't cover. Then you'll be wishing there was a nationalized health plan. And being thing does not mean that you're healthy. Likewise, being overweight does not mean that you're unhealthy. Winning eating contests like that means you have to practice/train. I'd love to see this guy's triglyceride levels.

DOUBTFUL. We have not had a health care insurance system for thousands of years and man has survived. Suddenly, since the 20th Century, people are claiming health care coverage as a civil right. I would rather have an excellent health care system in this nation and not have it covered by my insurance plan than have a crappy one and it be covered. That is why Canadians come here for health care and not the other way around. That is why people fly to the U.S. for health care from overseas and not the other way around. That is why Walter Reid Hospital is in such disarray. That is why every area VA hospital has horrendous service but I can get excellent health care at the private clinic I go to.

by the time i am no longer young and healthy i will have a well padded bank account, if i don't have to take care of everyone else with my money i can take care of myself, if you can't, that's what your family and various charities are for, if i don't know you don't expect handouts

Everybody has that dream when they're young. Things don't always work out like you plan them. Be wary of that.
