if and when i ever figure out where to hold on a target i can barely see this rifle will do it.
BTW i used the enfield No.4 Mk1*
as you can see i got a 3 shot group momma would be proud of out of a 65 year old rifle that has been well used.

Yay Chris!

Actually, Billy, that's not too bad for 50 yards. If you take a peek at the ones in my first mosin post (waaay back in the day) it has pictures of me shooting my 91/30 at that target at 25 yards and getting something around 3-4" groups. I'm certainly no expert marksman either.

Nor have I ever tried using that target passed 25 yards, as my local range is indoor and is only 25 yards at the back, heh. I didn't really intend for it to be used much passed that range, but you're welcome to try.

ya know with the last match there was a misunderstanding about distance.
i thought i lost the blackdeath.
but it turned out my opponent had shot@25 when he needed to shoot @50.
so i won!

I'm interested. Has anyone come up with any specifics. I would like to see a Mil surplus iron sights only at 100 yds.
http://dotclue.org/targets/sr1-a3-l.pdf
You can shoot at any position but "you" must support the rifle. No bags, rests etc

Okay, here's my entry to the Milsurp Iron-sight 25 yard competition!

Score: 48/50.

Edit: This was shot while sitting in a metal folding chair with the forearm resting on my offhand, which was resting on the bench. (The benchrest notch is too high to use while sitting in a chair)

Thanks. The first two were the ones above the "9" and the last three were the ones in the 10-ring. I know it's hard to tell, but the place at the top of the ten-ring where it looks like a 6th bullet went in is just a flap of paper that folded under. The bullet holes touch each other and the space above is just me missing that piece when I took the picture.

So, you gunna try some Iron-sight Milsurp shootin' at 25 yards so I'm not the only entry, Billy?...

Are we going by largest number scored or tightest group (regardless of placement on the target)?

It's printed out on a normal piece of paper: 8.5"x11".

The orange dot is Hoppes No 9 "Self-Adhering Bulls-eye Dots" No: DOT1 105 1" dots.

As you can see from the picture, the inner part of the bullseye is a little more than an inch, since the dot is 1".

I think we should also have a handgun poker match shot @ 25! I used to love doing those!

I've done that with my .22 at 50 yards. I don't think I did it right though.

Still waiting for some competition...

Cumon, I didn't even get 50/50 and make it so we had to measure distance from center or groupings!
