| Senior Member | Lookin' good there Pred! I've heard those wire-stocks can be heck on the shoulder. Hopefully that paracord can deal with some of that. I like the fact that you can fire it with it folded (not that it's an optimum situation to fire in). There are some that I've seen that obscure the trigger when folded and I think that's just a dumb idea.

| Banned | Well... first, because more people look at the general section then the AK section. And seeing as how I wanted people to see what I had done, it made sense to put it here. I'm not asking about the weapon, I'm simply showing it off. And second, why do you care? Last edited by Pred; 07-19-2007 at 09:22 AM. |

![]() Also, wanted to visualize what that stock might look like on an AES-10 with the 23" barrel. I'm not sure how much that metal one weighs, but I imagine it would be about the same as that solid chunk of wood, if not maybe a little lighter.

| Banned | I'm wanting to say it is lighter then the wood stock. I'll also go ahead and tell you your face is much closer to the receiver then with a thumbhole. I'm torn right now on what to do. Part of me wants to leave it alone, and the other part of me wants to pull the wood off and stain it red like a Russian AK would be. |

| Senior Member | If I get the AES-10 I intend on doing mine up in a nice DEEP red/brown (marooooon, even. ) Hopefully, when all's said and done, It will be reminiscent of a tabuk sniper.

| Senior Member | That's the fatter Yugo grip, it's designed to fill out the palm better than the original grip.

| Super Moderator ![]() | I made a couple monstrously large grips back in the day. They felt good to me, but buyer feedback compelled me to scale the pattern down.

| Senior Member | Hehe... isn't that one of the most awesome looking AK's you've ever seen?! Also, I wonder if the Tapco composite side folder would be lighter than the original Romanian (plus it adds a US part for 922(f)).

| Senior Member | Yeah, I was worried the plastic might be flimsy on it, but I'm sure that Romanian's rather sturdy. As for optic mounts, I like the idea of a side-mount, but don't really want to go for the PSOP or variants. I kind of like Tapco's 2-rail mount, but it's made from aluminum, so I'm not sure if it would hold up all that well. They do make a receiver cover steel mount, but I'm not sure how good they are or how well they would fit up to an AES-10. ![]()
