Lookin' good there Pred!

I've heard those wire-stocks can be heck on the shoulder. Hopefully that paracord can deal with some of that. I like the fact that you can fire it with it folded (not that it's an optimum situation to fire in). There are some that I've seen that obscure the trigger when folded and I think that's just a dumb idea.

Such a conversion requires a Tapco G2 double hook FCG, and some US made mag followers to put in my surplus mags. This, along with the US made grip, provides the 5 parts needed to stay legal.

Well... first, because more people look at the general section then the AK section. And seeing as how I wanted people to see what I had done, it made sense to put it here. I'm not asking about the weapon, I'm simply showing it off. And second, why do you care?

Cuz I went looking for the post in the AK section and couldn't find it... I wanted to oogle the pretty pictures.

Also, wanted to visualize what that stock might look like on an AES-10 with the 23" barrel. I'm not sure how much that metal one weighs, but I imagine it would be about the same as that solid chunk of wood, if not maybe a little lighter.

I'm wanting to say it is lighter then the wood stock. I'll also go ahead and tell you your face is much closer to the receiver then with a thumbhole. I'm torn right now on what to do. Part of me wants to leave it alone, and the other part of me wants to pull the wood off and stain it red like a Russian AK would be.

If I get the AES-10 I intend on doing mine up in a nice DEEP red/brown (marooooon, even. ) Hopefully, when all's said and done, It will be reminiscent of a tabuk sniper.

That's the fatter Yugo grip, it's designed to fill out the palm better than the original grip.

I made a couple monstrously large grips back in the day. They felt good to me, but buyer feedback compelled me to scale the pattern down.

Hehe... isn't that one of the most awesome looking AK's you've ever seen?!

Also, I wonder if the Tapco composite side folder would be lighter than the original Romanian (plus it adds a US part for 922(f)).

I don't know about now, but Tapco used a plastic piece in their side folder that easily broke. Now, you could always replace it. They may have switched to metal though.

Yeah, I was worried the plastic might be flimsy on it, but I'm sure that Romanian's rather sturdy.

As for optic mounts, I like the idea of a side-mount, but don't really want to go for the PSOP or variants. I kind of like Tapco's 2-rail mount, but it's made from aluminum, so I'm not sure if it would hold up all that well. They do make a receiver cover steel mount, but I'm not sure how good they are or how well they would fit up to an AES-10.
