So today I heard a discussion about guns in the oddest of places. I was over my grandma's house and they were watching a new show on Game Show Network called Without Prejudice. It's a game where a group of people judge a group of contestants and decide which one of them should have $25,000 the most. So one of the questions asked of the last 3 contestants is what they think about everybody being able to bear arms. Surprisingly only one of the 3 contestants said he doesn't agree with everybody being able to have guns, and that was probably because his dad got shot 3 times in the face and died while the contestant was still a young boy. That is totally understandable why he thinks that, and why he himself has never touched a gun. Of the 5 judges, only 1 of them said they disagree with the right to bear arms. I found this information totally surprising AND this coming out of the mouths of Americans AFTER the Virginia Tech massacre. Everybody else pretty much agreed that they would feel safer if they owned a gun. Also, one of the pro-gun girls on the show said "If we blame guns for killing people we might as well blame pencils for misspelled words" and something else that I don't remember...but I thought it was a good analogy. I just wanted to share that with you all because I thought it was pretty cool.

Perhaps we gun-owners aren't as alone as we think. But then again, with the way schools are pushing the Liberal mindset and agenda, and fewer young folks hunting and shooting these days, we ARE a shrinking population group. Tha sad thing is the naive people thinking that guns, shooting and hunting are "old fashioned" and have no place in today's "progressive society". They totally don't get it. They will regret it one day.

TexasT thanks for sharing that...I saw on Fox news last year where most Americans are NOT against guns and it gave an estiment of the percentage that was in the 90 percent range. I've slept since then. Thats interesting to me because of the lessor percentage thats against ownership of guns can make so much trouble. A.H |

I have found that the Political leaders of this country are the ones making a stink about the Right to keep and bear arms. It is our govt's goal to disarm the American People. Then and only then will they be able to push their over-taxation and theocracy rule on us without recourse. The problem is that it is infectious to stupid people across the country, and stupid people are becoming more and more abundant as time goes on and the govt. preaches stupidity, making their views appear as the views of the majority. I have met a few people in my short time here on this planet who are totally put off by guns, they look at you like a freak who is about to go postal at any moment and it is all they can do to avoid you. But, these individuals are few and far between, but they do exist, and I have seen the numbers increase. I am sure people who are more social than I am, who get out there in the world have noticed it even more than I.

CI I started to type that too, what you said but I had to go eat breakfast. I think a lot of our problems about gun control are from the ones that are elected. I think most non - gun owning American don't care one way or another yet the poll I saw was 90 plus percent were pro gun...A.H |

I think all this negative talk about guns we've heard for so long comes from the politicos. I think, because they know what they generally do is wrong, they fear gun owners. I think these politicos are afraid they may become targets! Can't have that, now, can we? If our best was on their minds, I think they would do other things. You know, stuff that would help us...

Yea, I was kind of amazed, here in Colorado, the guy that went into the Governor's office with a gun and was shot/killed by Capitol Police. This guy in particular was delusional, judging by the emails and what he said to people before he did what he did. But, everyone acts like it was a big travesty. Well, all I can say is that if the govt. keeps going the way they are, they may have a mass of people doing what this guy did one day.

We blame the politicians for all the gun control.Who votes them in?Who sits back and does nothing when we are informed or should be way ahead of time.Right now governor Granholm in the state of Mich.has decided the way to handle overcrowding in prison is the way California does it,reduce sentinces, make felonies into misdimeanors, and dismiss charges.I am sure if she gets a big tax raise and some stricter gun laws she will eventually be voted into congress. And we in Mich.will vote her in even tho we dont believe in anything she is doing. That is the way it is done in N.Y.,Cal,Col.Min.Wis. etc.Is it really the politicians fault? samuel.

Why is there a choice of 50 when it comes to Ms. America pageant, but a selection of a mere 2 for the president, the person to head the worlds leading nation? My point is...we must choose the best of 2 evils when it comes to elections. Bush/Cheney has proven to be as lax when it comes to illegal immigration as John Kerry and Al "Green" Gore would have been; though I didn't vote for the Bush/Cheney team once.

I believe there are about 50 running for president. The trouble being we dont hear about some that might govern the way the people wish. The powers that be wont give the media storys if they print storys about candidates they dont want in power so the media, liberal or otherwise, only prints about what they call front runners. We also put too much emphasis on the president.Congress is the ones that write bills and pass them. The president trades off with them and signs them or vetos them. But he can be overridden.Right now with congress in full cry to bring the troops home,if they really wanted to do what they are bs,ing us about they could override a presidential and cut funding and the president would have to withdraw.Neither democrats nor republicans want to do what they are telling us they want to do. sam.

The trouble with politicians is that they talk the talk before they get in. After they get in they rarely ever walk the walk.

People that hate guns due to bad experiences in the past , should in reality hate the criminal behind the gun that used it to commit crime, not the gun or the possesion and use by law abiding Citizens. Otherwise, we should all hate CARS because we all know someone killed by or in them...We should hate Doctors because of the people they have messed up or killed in the name of Medicine. We should hate Motorcycles for maiming and killing lots of people that we know. We should Hate McDonalds and KFC for making Our Arteries clog up and giving people heart attacks. We should hate politicians that lie to us and tax us to line their own pockets and write laws that are destined to end up in court battles when things are written in plain English to begin with...There is something wrong with this picture ! I agree with CrazyIvan. Today's law makers and politicans seem to be less and less concerened about the poeple that voted them in, then their own agenda. Samuel, I have to disagree; as a people, yes, we did vote them in. However, people pay so little attention until it is too late, so it doens't matter. As a group, a lot of people on this website are informed, but the majority of our country isn't, and thats why some of the bills that a lot of people hate, have passed. |
