Talking about this one?

::MOLLER::

Problem is this one, you need an FAA license.

Seen that at the Museum of Flight here in Seattle since I was a little kid.

There was another "flying car" built in the 70's that used a modified Ford Pinto as it's basis - it even made an appearance in a James Bond movie.
It had a completely detachable wing/engine/propellor unit that mounted over the hatchback.

Max altitude of 10'(supposedly anything higher and you require a license), top speed of 50mph, can travel for 1 hour at that speed, and that's 40 gal of fuel. I'd rather have a fast car and dive into some twisties. There was an article in Yahoo News recently that they're going to be offered to the public at $90k a pop.

Red face

I remember reading once that it was expected there would be a big boom in private flying after WWII - there'd be a small plane in every garage!
Never happened - the FAA got tight with the regs.

Could you imagine all the lame-brained kids and near-blind blue-hairs that clog our highways now - FLYING all over town!!? Sheesh . . .
