Help with scope mount

Last year I bought a Verona shotgun for deer. It has the grooved reciever for the scope mount. It is not a continuous groove, but it is grooved in two places which limits how much the scope can be moved. When I mount my pro-diamond shotgun scope on the gun , it sets too far forward. I have to stretch my head forward to get the full field of view. Does anyone know if they make a mount adapter to address this problem.
