Mythbusters: Plausible!

They tested a bunch of different canned doughs and some did in fact "explode" at a high heat in the car (one that's attainable in a natural sun-induced "oven"). They couldn't actually confirm the validity of the story, so it's not "Confirmed", but definitely plausible.
