Angry Number of licensed gun owners declining across state

Boston is proud to report that gun ownership is falling by 25%. Law Enforcement credit the gun restrictive laws, higher license fees, and a change in "culture".

Quincy Police Chief Robert Crowley is quoted as saying, ""Fewer firearms on the street makes life safer for everyone."

The article goes on to say there are more illegal guns on the street.

They make no mention of more police units to patrol the area. In fact all they have done is show that more law-biding citizens have decided not to pay the outrageous fee the government wants to charge someone for exercising their rights.

Until people grow a pair and say enough's enough, it'll only get worse.

I notice it doesn't say anything about the crime rate falling...and apparently that police chief doesn't think much of the "average citizen."

Thumbs down Safer for who?

Fewer guns make everything safer for the CRIMINALS.
Keeping your guns secure in your home. Just who is going to monitor this. Big Brother will figure out a way if they haven't already.

"Fewer firearms on the street makes life safer for everyone," said Quincy Police Chief Robert Crowley."

No, its: "Fewer ILLEGAL firearms on the street makes life safer for everyone."

"The average citizen who has a gun 24-7 I don’t believe has the experience, knowledge and training to know when and if they should use a firearm."

Troy said it; this douche really doesn't think much of the average citizen. Maybe he should spend less time at Dunkin Doughnuts, get off his fat @ZZ and offer some free courses in gun safety and self defense law.

^ Well said. I have a deal for the Cheif. Go to the range, and if I out shoot him, he has to publicly recant. I bet he has 0 facts to back up his biased opinion.

It just goes to show the mindset in different parts of the country, here in Tx. most LEO's have applauded the passage of our CCW laws. These laws have expanded steadily since being introduced. We can now carry in our cars without a CCW license even if it's just to a neighbors' house or the grocery store. This last ruling did upset a few cops in Dallas that had cases pending against people caught carrying, but most are O.K. with it.

I'd take this whole thing with a grain of salt. The chief of Boston and the commissioner are both as goofy as the day is long. Neither are too well liked, nor respected, in the LE community
This info is coming from the same man who said handguns designed to take hi-cap mags are more powerful than ones that accepts 10 rounds or less. His logic is that it takes more power for a hangun to pump out 15 rounds than it does to pump out 10 rounds. He claimed it was something the manufacturers had to do to make them work with hi-caps.
Excuse me while I head to the nearest trash can and puke......

I'm betting this guy is a political appointee, and not a real beat-cop/patrol officer who rose through the ranks.
A real LEO would know better.

toolman,New York,Connecticut and Massachusetts lay in what was once called gun Valley.More guns were made in the three States then probably anywhere. The States were gun friendly also, till the third World invaded them.

I think that once the people of this country outside of the Northeastern bloc and I include California and Washington D.C. in that bloc also, get fed up with gov't socialism, nazism and ACLU type fascism that is ruining this country. there will be a reckoning but it may be while in coming.

I would have to say I'll bet the average citizen who cares enough to get a CCW and carry it often is likely to have more range time under their belt than the average LEO.

Then again, how many articles do we see with 8 police officers firing 85 shots with just 21 wounds in someone including exit wounds?

That chief is being a jerk. It's legal, so he shouldn't have jack to say about citizens taking a legal action. It's not his job to care what people who aren't breaking the law do, is it?
