You know the movie will suck when Susan Surrandwrap's casted into it and reading the released story-line only makes it more painfull.... The story is laced with liberalism. Anti-American, Anti-business, Anti-human, overly Enviromentally raptured... I hate baby boomers with a passion and Hollywood even more, I haven't gone to the movies since Saving Private Ryan nor do I have any interest in seeing any of the past ten years worth of flicks on DVD. Why does modern hollywood see fit to infect every good story with its acidic laced politicalism? Why are we seeing these stupid slasher films over and over again? And why do these idiots have to attempt remakes of classic films like Halloween only to inject more slash violence and more political crap? People should boycott these jerks and their trash films. Stop going to the theaters and buy only pre-1990 movies untill we can force a financial crash of tinsle town and bring the liberal socialist mantra it extolls to its knees. Then maybe we'll get some new fresh un-tainted tallent to make great films again. |

| Senior Member | Well, did you hear in the new Superman, that the saying "Truth, Justice and the American Way..." was changed to "Truth and Justice" ??? I guess there is no more "American Way." Some movies are good, the ones that are just for entertainment, and the ones that point out the flaws in our government which are denegrating our society into this new world order. Lord of War is pretty good. Band of Brothers, was awesome. But, yea, the majority of the movies are filled with left-wing and Bush propaganda. It is funny, I saw the cartoons from Pakistan and the middle east, telling kids to be suicide bombers and muslim extremists. Well, if you look at some of the American programming and movies, they show just as much propaganda, but pushing different ideology.

The live (sic) action remake of "Underdog"? The Transformers? Now admittedly some of these were funny or cute remakes into "Live Action" Dudley Do-Right for one but I must agree I'm seeing waaaaay too much Tree hugging half truth rhetoric in too many of them.

| Senior Member | Just saw a movie on TV the other day starring Clint Eastwood. It was called "Heartbreak Ridge" and he played an aging Gunny Sgt. in the Marines who returned to a base to train the Marine outcasts "Team Recon" or something. It was enlightening. It was made in the mid 80's, but was a good movie.

| Moderator ![]() | Consider the source - most hollyweirders are heavily Left-Wing. I cringe when I see what Disney has done to our beloved old Fairytales. They were violent for a reason - to teach the kids a life lesson. Sugar-coating life just makes it hurt harder when Junior runs up against something he wasn't prepared for. Imagine Disney doing a remake of David Copperfield set in a modern time? I like movies for simple entertainment and escapism. I don't want to see somebody's life philosophy played out. Saturday morning shows - cartoons and live actors - are utterly abominable. Still selling those cheapo plastic toys to the youngsters, and indoctrinating their little minds too . . . Last weekend, I went the whole of Saturday and Sunday without watching Telly, and only watching good classic movies from 'yesteryear'.

A happy ending is fine, but when they dare to think somehow they're better than some of the original authors... Disney's Little Mermaid makes me ill...change the whole ending. Somehow some Disney hack is a better writer than Hans Christian Anderson?! Hollywood does put out some crap...and yeah, they let their politics in too much. And a lotta people consider me liberal, but man...there's a point where logic just goes bye-bye. Nothing wrong with being concerned about the environment, some of the greatest hunters and explorers were bigtime conservationists. And I don't see a problem with movies that are critican of the US...so long as the criticism is warranted. Stuff like U-571, with American characters in place of the real British heroes that really stole the German Enigma machine doesn't help any. Stuff like Saving Private Ryan...what can I possibly add to such a great film? Although...if Hollywood is out of ideas, they could do worse than hit the bookshelf. And I don't mean some of the fantasy garbage like Eragon. I recently caught Thank You For Smoking and it was one of the better films I'd seen in some time. Now that's a nice movie that doesn't let politics into it too deeply. Nick Naylor lets the people around him 9and the audience) make their own decision about his morality and the rightness or wrongness of his actions. Now I'm no smoker...hate the stuff, but I loved the scene when, at a Congressional hearing when asked if his son wanted to smoke when he turned 18 what he'd do his answer was "I'd buy him his first pack." Gotta appreciate a character who walks the talk. But Halloween *sigh*...how can you improve on a nearly perfect horror film? Is Rob Zombie gonna make any good movies yet? For such a big fan of the genre his output is pretty weak. - Coeloptera |

I also dread my own generation (Obama ) who thus far has shown a complete incompetance when it comes to foreign policy. The boomer generations abuses of the 1960's are coming back to haunt us with a vengence, we are reaping the hell the hippies hath sewn. Saturday morning shows - cartoons and live actors - are utterly abominable. They started to get that way in the 1980's after a woman named Peggy Charron and her Action for Children's Television stripped the rights of creative art from the animators. She caused Chuck Jones to end the Bugs Bunny, Road Runner Show and out of that came the shameful use of cartoons to sell products like Nintendo or political garbage like Captain Penis, I mean, Planet. As for Speed Racer being a bad Anime, of course any adult now would say such a thing. You didn't care when you were a kid did you? Last edited by dannavyvet; 08-21-2007 at 08:13 AM. The A-Team Co-efficient: The amount of surrounding destruction shalt equal the tonnage of ordinance + the debris created to replace the amount of human flesh not destroyed during firing. |

| Senior Member | I'll give gi joe this, at the end of every show they gave a good informative lesson to the kids, how to get out in case of a fire, make a plan with your family about it. What to look for in child predators and what to do. Cartoons today don't do that, but if you want to live in a pineapple under the sea.....knowing is half the battle |

| Senior Member ![]() | there's no such thing as over capitalization, in a capitalist economy you get what you earn and earn what you get, and anyone who says movies cause moral decay is getting it backwards, people watch what entertains them, so for there movies to be popular the "moral decay" already has to have happened |
