Elvis’ handgun stolen from museum

Video camera caught a man removing the pistol from the display case

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A handgun once owned by Elvis Presley was stolen from a museum as fans converged on Memphis to mark the 30th anniversary of the singer’s death, authorities said.

The black, 9mm Smith & Wesson pistol was taken Tuesday from a display case in the Elvis After Dark museum, across the street from Graceland, Presley’s mansion, police said.

A video camera caught a man removing the pistol from the display case around midnight.

The theft was discovered Friday when a visitor noticed that a glass panel on the case was unfastened and Graceland officials reviewed the video. Graceland operates the museum.

A Smith and Wesson Model 39! Oh man, I cannot believe, the King and I have similar taste in handguns!!

After reading the article, I find it hard to believe that the thief accidentally dropped it in the port-a-john and just left it. Stink or no, I'd have fished it out. I'm not sure the value, but I'm betting Elvis' gun was/is worth a small fortune!!!

Probably a Liberal anti-gun nut who liked Elvis and couldn't comprehend his or her hero as being a gun owner. The thief was making Elvis PC.
