New Movie about vigilantism

Jodie foster has a new movie out where her and her boyfriend gets attacked and he dies. She buys a gun and goes on a rampage killing thugs and criminals breaking the law. Looks like its based in New York or some other city with restrictive gun laws as she ends up buying the gun on the street.

does anyone else see the anti-gun sentiment of such a movie? "Oh My!...citizen taking the law into their own hand by going on a rampage, what an outrage!" lol

Somebody's gotta do it, why not citizens? The govt. doesn't seem too concerned about some of our laws...

I don't know, I thought Charles Bronson was pretty cool doing it.

I saw a preview for a movie last night with Kevin Bacon in it. Something about some people killed his son, and threatened to kill his family, so he makes sure that doesn't happen. Looked halfway decent actually.

I think this country needs more vigilantes. The justice system is corrupt, to many criminals go free, and to many people are losing the right to defend themselves.

IMHO, it's half true. There are plenty of instances where police would LOVE nothing more than to take out the bad guy, but "due process" gets in the way. Hmmmmmm......that statement was a double-edged sword wasn't it?

I mean, if someone raped my child, or did something to my wife, father, mother, I should be, by law, allowed to hold their life in my hands. Way it was 150 years ago, and everyone carried guns then to. They knew if they did something, and got caught, they died, on the spot. And the other person knew they were doing the right thing, and didn't have to worry about harming a criminal.

ok, lets do the math

criminals hunting regular folks (1)
(+)
regular folks hunting criminals (1)
(=)
way better odds of criminal getting their "due process".
works for me.

Justice

In olden times, the wronged party got to throw the first stone, and found the biggest one. Now, you get to say your peace to them. The wronged party ought to get to push the plunger on the syringe, or throw the switch.

Very true. If criminals REALLY had to wory about being shot back at by the people they are tryin to comit the crime on then crime would go down.........but handgun duels would go up.

i downloaded a book called "gun facts" and you wouldn't believe the stats that were quoted on how crime of all kinds went down in states that had ccw and how crime went up in countries like my canada that has virtually banned guns all together. i suggest anyone that hasn't read it to do so. real interesting stuff.

Come on Troy! Don't try to cloud the PC atmosphere in this country by presenting the facts, you will only confuse those in power that want to stay in power.

Check this out my son the cop can't arrest criminals right now due to they have no where to put them. We have a state of the art criminal detention center here that holds ( I don't remember how many it holds ) it's a lot.
But it is running over with criminals. All he can do is give them a citation and a court date. Now that creates another problem and that is the right to a speedy trial when the court system is flooded with case's waiting to be heard.
I've read in the paper where the lawyers are pulling the trump card about haveing the right to a speedy trial and then the criminal is set free.
This is upsetting to the leo's because the squm bag criminal gets set free only to commit more crimes.
If this is happening in my town of 24000 could it be happening in your's ?
We have a drug problem here and we have a race of citizens who throw rocks, bricks at your vehicle, they walk down the middle of the streets to imped traffic.
When the youth of this race comes to an intersection they pull there cars half way in your lane, they will turn in front of you when theres as little as one car link between you...I'm guess I'm rantting here so I'll shut up, but it ain't like it use to be...A.H
