1/8th the amount of money any of those NRA head-dudes make annually would be 'enough' to live on. So, perhaps we should ask them to divie up their salaries and send the rest to us.
Maybe we should put them in a prison and feed them water and PBJ sandwiches...they can survive, that is 'enough' isn't it? What more do you need?
Having more than enough is often a luxury. It goes for anything. Food, freedoms, money, guns....We are a democracy and capitalist country. Having 'more than enough' is the norm here. For them to say something like this is dictatorial and communistic in nature.

The NRA doesn't reflect my views anymore. They have become a victim of the political process that they are trying to influence. They'll not get another of my hard-earned dollars. I'm going to start buying more guns and ammo instead. The way this country is going I'm gonna need them!

What's interesting is that the NRA divorced itself from Zumbo based on his remarks, which in their substance were actually far less extreme than this guy's.

Being from New orleans and owning a business at one point in the 7 worst blocks of the city which has had the worst crime rate of any American city I can tell you these criminals get whatever they want! The NRA is selling us out, and just look at what happened to our 2nd amendment rights during Katrina! they beat up an old lady for having a derringer, unloaded, and put her in jail. and she never got her gun back along with many many other law abiding citizens...And I mean punched her in the face quite a few times! yet the criminals shooting at the helicopters are being represented by the NAACP and saying they were forced to act like that from being oppressd by the gov't for so long.... who just so happen to be the people they all voted in office for the last 25 years! (Liberals I might add)We all need to wake up and use our brains and figure out real fast which direction we want our country to go in. I say no restrictions on guns period! they are mine and i am keeping them...and always getting more. And i want to make sure my kids have these same RIGHTS too! I am not some nutbad either- im just a normal American here. But I am sooo fed up of being sold down the river by every so called man we put in office or running an organization..... and yet here we sit left to fend for ourselves again. Kind seems like thats why this country was founded in the first place?

I have lost a lot of faith with the NRA I can't help but wonder what their about. part of me wonders if they are just linning their pockets and sitting back like most politicians, or they buckling under the pressure of whats coming next?I haven't renewed my memeber ship in over 5 years, every time i turned around they had their hand out for more money but did nothing!, time to find another organization??
lets face it,! I think we are a dying breed! we will probably be the last generation to experience the freedoms our founding fathers fought and died for ! I hope I'm wrong?

Ah shut up the lot of you! If this is the same crap I've read before, whoever was on that broken link was referring to genuine machineguns, not their semi-automatic counterparts!

You certainly enhance the reputation of Gun and Game as the friendliest gun forum on the internet...
Why on earth would anyone say that 'genuine machine guns' should be limited to five round magazines? That makes absolutely no sense to me.

This interview can do more damage to the NRA than anything the gun-grabbers have ever been able to do. Single shot hunting and 5 rounds for self defense goes against everything I believe in. If the NRA lets this stand then I can no longer support them.

I don't know how it came out.

well when Jim Zumbo made some rash comments about the Black Gun, many of us went to his blog and posted posts of discontent and then we went to many other boards and voiced our dislike as well as saying we wuld boycott the products that endorsed him. Within days his sponsors dropped him and Outdoor Life ended his many year running column. So maybe it is time for everyone to go to NRA.com and voice our disatisfaction over this jerk.
Rebecca is right, the posts are from Sept of 07 and the link takes you nowhere and the News is Old News.
I have no clue what was said, I never heard anything bout it.

I can only assume that he'll do the same for you

One thing all you guys need to remember is that the NRA opposes any legislative attempt that would outlaw civilian possession of magazines that hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition. They oppose it, they fight it, they don't stand for it.

If it ever really hits the fan,we are truely on our own.
At least the bastids could let us be armed to defend us and ours.

One Board member's opinion, does Not dictate the stance of the NRA...Never has, never will. Now lets turn this around as I would if debating that guy.
By HIS reasoning, there is no need for police officers to carry Hi capacity guns either. Since police officers have to Qualify on the shooting range and practice monthly, a police officer should not need to carry more than 3 rounds. How many times does a single police officer encounter more than 1 or 2 criminals at a time...Rarely if ever. Usually it is one or 2 at most.
SWAT officers that are highly trained need not carry full auto M-16's, they only need 1 round of ammo...A single shot rifle, otherwise I get the impression that SWAT teams are out to possibly Kill a Lot of "suspects" . Evidently it is an unsafe world in which we live, since most officers went from a six-shooter, to a High Capacity Glock, in order to protect themselves, so the Same should apply to Law abiding Citizens as does the Equality clause in our Constitution.
Common sense concerning the Military dictates the use of all the firepower you can get when facing large numbers of enemy troops. This same common sense should point out that police officers have nothing to worry about concerning Law-abiding Citizens, but Criminals don't abide by the law anyway, so Criminals won't abide by a Magazine restriction either...So as a citizen, I want the ability to protect myself and My family in the same manner as any Law Enforcement officer has...since there is NO guarantee that Law Enforcement can be where I am when I need them at any given moment.

Rich | Now that you mention it, Rich, I've always been disturbed by the flagrant waste of taxpayer money in WWII. Instead of adding up the number of Japanese and Germans, manufacturing that many bullets, and apportioning them to the European and Pacific theaters, they went crazy making ammo and handed it out to the military like Halloween candy. Talk about encouraging government waste and overspending...
You know, I only carry a single-shot pistol. After all, if two guys come after me all I have to do is shoot the front one, and run away when the second one trips over his partner in crime...I mean, if I had five or six rounds in my gun, wouldn't that make me a potential mass murderer, out there just hoping for an excuse to kill people? |

Very well put, Mooseman! As read, the second amendment gives us the right to be armed well enough to be able to protect ourselves, but them other folks just keep on chippin' away!
