What are the legal ramifications for modifying the 8 round mag down to 5. Does it have to be permanent? Can it be a removable spacer? How do you put one in and NOT damage the spring like my buddy did?

Also if anyone has ?'s about how accurate the Saiga is. I tend to shake like someone with parkinsons who drank nine redbulls yet with open sites at 100 yards I still hit the mark a majority of the time. This one groovy gun!

There's no law against lessening mag capacity. A spacer will probably work but I'm not the one to ask how. I believe that 5 rd. mags are available though-I'd try to find one of those before I started making possibly damaging mods to the one you have. Correct, there are no laws against reducing mag capacity. Most hunting regs accept blocking a mag instead of shortening one. That way you don't risk damaging the mag, and you can switch it back to full capacity when not hunting.

Thanks for the awesome feedback guys. I found a real cheap way to block my mag. I MacGuvered it using a carpenters pencil (you know the rectangular shape not round) cut into 3rds. Stacked and taped and inset into the follower now the mag will only fit 5 rounds. Perhaps not the most professional method but hey ingenuity has its perks. Thanks Richard Dean Anderson (MacGuyver) for your inspiration! If only I had a swiss army knife and a wire coat hanger I could build a gun safe and keep my kid away from my gun....Just kidding I have a swiss army knife and a wire coat hanger.

Richard Dean Anderson is anti-gun, in fact on the board of directors of HCI. This'll show him!

His character on Stargate SG1 is pretty military. There's a scene where he hands a woman a gun, and she says "I don't like guns", and he says "neither do I." Those who know the actor's position see it as an inside joke.
