I have the same gun and I have not had any of the problems that I am reading about. Maybe the person that we got it off of fixed it somehow, but I'll tell you this thing has been in use for some time and shoots moose flawlessly and always has. I was shocked to see the going price for it. A collector up north has offered me much more and I have turned it down because I just love the gun!

I have one I really like better than any rifle I have ever owned I killed my first deer with this gun and now I have handed it down to my son in hopes he can kill his first deer with it also.
