A little over a month ago my cousin started talking to me about selling his Winchester 1300 Defender. He said he wanted to sell it and I told him he just needed to keep it. Well he continued to say he wanted to sell it so I told him I would give him $200 for it. It was barely shot at all but it does have some nics and scratches on one side were it it was kicked while laying on a side walk at a range (not were I would put my gun but he was instructed by the instructor to put it there and someone walked by and accidently kicked it). He had installed a ATI folding stock and the original stock also came wit it. He bought the gun in the late 90's so it has the wood stock and forarm not the synthetic. He thougt about it for a week or so and called and told me if I was still interested he would sell it to me for $180. So what can a guy do He wants to sell it to me for $20 less then I offered him. I should have held out for $160 but I thought that migt be pressing my luck.
I ordered a Truglo clip on sight for it and have had it sitting around the house ever since. Boy I sure like the size of that gun with the stock folded. Last weekend we took it out shooting. I had 3in slugs and 3 in 00 Buckshot. Both were so painful I only shot a few rounds. It just plain hurt to shoot. With the stock down it hurts the sholder wit no recoil bad on the butplate and with the stock folded it hurts the hand. Here is what I am planning to doing. I am going to but the original stock back on the gun and I am going to get some 2 3/4 in slugs and buck shot for the next time I want to play around. I am also planing on using this as my deer gun untill I buy a deer gun with rifled barrel. 2 3/4 is where it is at! I think I will go ahead and keep the folding stock so but I don't plan on using it much.
Edited to add a pic. This was taken before I got the truglo sight. I have now put the original wood stock back on it.
