Price on RRA Elite CAR A4

Well I heard back from a gunsmith in my town about ordering me the AR of my dreams. I have been wanting a RRA Elite CAR A4 for a while now.

Here is a pic!

The price for the basic rifle as pictured is $905

I want to add a couple of options and the prices for the upgrades are as follows:
Ambi Safty $25 and 4 rail free float forearm $100

He is going to only charge me $10.00 for the transfer fee and he thought shipping would be around $25

That brings the grand total to $1065.00

What do you guys think about that pirce? Is that a pretty good price for the basic rifle. I already know that the prices of the upgrades are pretty much standard.

The same gun is listed on Gun broker by a stocking dealer in my state for $895.00 Of course that would require me to drive almost 4 hours one way to pick it up.

If ordered right now it would take 8 to 12 weeks for delivery. RRA must be a little backed up right now?

Depending on what you drive you might end up a tiny bit cheaper on the one on gunbroker and four hours isn't 6 weeks. But it is always worthwhile to support a local shop IF they do you right which it seems he is.

That isn't a bad price, but find out if there is a waiting list. Those have been on a back order for over 6 months now.

8-12 weeks is what they said, but in reality, it is more like 6 moths. I was going to get a complete RRA, but after reading about other people's experiences on AR15.com I just put mine together. It took about that time just to get my upper alone and lowers were on eternal backorder.

Well I gave my guy the word to get that think ordered. I went with the Elite CAR A4. I am going to add a Midwest Industries 4 rail free float handguard after I get it. I did add the ambi safty. Also word on AR15.com is that the lead times are getting much better now. They said they ship whole rifles before they ship parts and that while they are still telling people 8-12 weeks they are shipping them much sooner than that right now and they are getting caught up on parts too. I will let you all know when it comes in!

Thanks for your help.

That's high. I just got that same upper without the tactical carry handle for $510, complete with bcg... I got a good deal, but you should shop around. You can do better.

That's not the same upper I got. I mis-read the post. I have the Entry Car A4 upper (m4 barrel). Still sounds high, according to beer's post.
