Bass Pro Shops M1 Carbine

Yesterday I had errands to run down in San Antonio and found myself with a little extra time so I stopped at the new Bass Pro Shop in the Rim. Now my favorite spot to visit in there is the fine gun room and while I know I'll never be able to afford any of the magnificient works of art I still love to look, second favorite is of course you guessed it, the used gun rack and there sitting in all it's glory rested an Underwood M1 Carbine and yes I looked and lusted that is until I checked the price! Them yahoo's wanted $1000.00 for a dinged up service grade! I'd estimate it as fair to good certainly no better than that. I couldn't believe they wanted that much and sadly didn't even consider pulling the credit card out. Oh well!

That stuff occurs here in the Pacific NW. I don't know where some of these outfits get their pricing structure. I know the going price of carbines is usually about $200 more than what the CMP charges and usually the CMP will undergrade their offerings.
You did good EZ for not pullin' out that CC.
