Berdan Primers.

I have heard about a company a while ago that reprimed berdan primers. I am collecting my spent brown bear casing in hopes of a company that still does this cheaply. Has anyone heard of this or know of a company that still does it?

Hi Gio,
Trying to clarify what it is that you are asking. There are a couple of ways to get old Berdan primers out of the cases---- & they do make new Berdan primers that can be installed in the cases. Is this what you are inquiring about? I believe it is RCBS that makes a Berdan depriming tool. I have one, but would have to dig to find it to make sure it is RCBS. Also, I found directions somewhere on-line & made a very simple hydraulic tool that uses water pressure to knock the old primers out. Had to grind deprime pin off my resizing die spindle, so I could resize cases first, so hydraulic plunger would fit tight enough in case neck to make a good enough hydraulic seal.
I have a bunch of 7.62x54R Russian empty cases I ran accross, & decided I wanted to be able to reload them. I think I got a case of some of the last of the Berdan primers available. Bought them through PMC. They said they were going to discontinue importing them to the U.S. I believe I have a case of 10,000 -- which is probably way more than I will ever use. If this is what you are inquiring about, & you would like more info --- you can contact me by e-mail: lonn-man@hotmail.com
as I probably won't visit this site often enough to see if you replied.
