ARMSLIST - Free local gun classifieds. Buy, sell, or trade firearms in your local area. is the standout leader for a totally free experience

If you like paying shipping, tax, FFL fees and such, by all means, stick with gunbroker.

I put this together, Top Gun Classifieds, might be fun to watch.

I Considered yet another classified site with this domain name, like we need one of those right?, chose this instead.

Ranks by hits out of the page and doesn't require the folks who join to put a "button" on their page like most. They still can if they want.

Thought they deserved one of their own. Only national classifieds in there so far, room for state/region classifieds too.

The more resources we have to arm Americans and keep them armed the better.

Interesting site, but the rankings in your site are in completely backwards to reality.

Armslist.com is the standout leader.

Site Comparison of armslist.com (rank #90,400), patriotslist.com (#1,483,788), gunlistings.org (#146,839) | Compete

Ranks by hits out of the page
My mistake, didn't clarify, hits out starting a week or so ago, averaged by # of hits per week. It registers a hit when a visitor clicks out of the page through their link. I can average it daily, weekly or monthly, its how all of the topsites work.

It only registers one hit per IP per 24 hour period to help prevent cheating.

Don't worry Armslist, you'll be at the top soon. The only way this site will register pageviews or unique visitors currently is if they put the buttons in the site which most don't want to do, I don't blame them.

So many of the gun sites out there have 30 topsites buttons on them slowing down the page. Thats why I changed it from pageviews because Patriotslist is the only one with the button.

You got to admit it looks cool. Maybe I'll change the color scheme to match the top site.....we'll wait a bit and see who holds it.

Maybe I'll figure out how to build a chart in there. Wanted to do something with the domain, just sitting there doing nothing.

hmmmm

I just found this thread through a google search.

I tried all the sites, and they're all great, but I kept having trouble on patriotslist, the security deal at the bottom kept giving me an error even though I know I typed it in right.

Does that happen to anyone else or it is something with my browser?

I know most of them are case sensitive, did a quick test and it worked for me. Don't know if that helps, lot of changes to it lately.

Has anyone discovered any new sites?

I've been using Armslist.com a lot, and gunlistings sometimes too, but that other guy was right, the email privacy on Armslist is an important feature. Gunlistings needs to upgrade to it.

You may have one for your specific state. In Texas we have texasguntrader.com. You might try same but insert your state.

I was looking for a site also and discovered Cheaperthandirt had a site where you can list for free. It allows classified as well as auction listings. I listed a gun and it even allows photos.

I notice when posting an ad at patriotslist that at the bottom of the post ad page there is a statement that encourages listers to post at other sites:

Look at the bottom of this page: http://www.patriotslist.com/index.php?view=post&cityid=2&lang=en&catid=8&subca tid=71&shortcutcat=1&shortcutregion

I'm going to start there from now on. Not many listings in there yet but it does seem to be growing. I can just copy and paste the info from there, except pics.

I recommend

http://www.auctionarms is an auction site (like ebay) for guns.

You could also try a new classified site called http://www.gozippin.com

craigs list for guns

If you find any let me know. I have found a few sites that sell guns but not quite like CraigsList. I want to see my gun before I buy it and these sites dont really offer that.

A good one to try is Gallery of Guns. They have a "Gun Genie" option. This allows you to enter a brand, type, caliber, etc. of what you are looking for. Enter your zip code & it'll bring up all firearms that fit the description you entered. It will show if in stock & if it is, click on choose & it brings up specs & MSRP of the firearm. This is NOT the price you pay. Click on instant quote & it'll bring up participating dealers within a 25 mile radius of you with their quoted price, including freight, etc. If you like, can ask for quotes at 50 or 100 miles which will give you more options.

If not in stock, can ask for e-mail updates. Happy hunting.
