Is there a craigslist for guns?

I was wondering if there was a site like Craigslist for private gun sales. I know there would be a lot of rules governing something like that. But it seems like somthing that should be possible.

The Rocky Mountain Gun Owners Association has a "for sale" classifieds site, because of the Denver newspapers' restrictive gun ads policies. Then there's all the gun "auction" sites. Use Google and poke around, you might be surprised what you find.

Your best bet is Gunbroker.com or ArmsAmerica.com.

I've bought several guns thru gunbroker.com. Never had a problem. But I passed on a couple of other guns, because the seller either couldn't be bothered to answer my questions or didn't know what he was talking about...

A lot of other gun forum sites have a free classified section.

Well you have Gunbroker.com as previously mentioned and Auctionarms.com. Also, you can list guns on Craigslist.

I prefer GunsAmerica.com, as it is a "Firearms Classified" rather than an auction. The seller posts the price up front, you contact him and make your deal. He transfers the gun to your local FFL for the proper paperwork.
I had one bad deal - the seller sold a gun out from under me when a 'walk in' wanted it - AFTER I sent the payment. He sent my payment back with an apology. He's off my list of good dealers.
I have bought three other rifles off GA with good results.

As always, "Buyer Beware" applies here as anywhere.

Thank you to all that replied. As for Craigslist you can post gun sales there but they get flagged for removal immediately. I was hopeing there was a site like Craigslist that has local area sales like the classifieds so you wouldn't have to mess with the ffl transfer to just sale a few unwanted guns. Again thanks guys for the input.

You can use backpage.com as well. Never a HUGE amount of guns on there, but I do check it occassionally just for kicks.

A resource page I've built for myself for gun related quick reference, a few friends told me it was cool so I'll share it, MONTANA GUNS - Free Gun Classifieds NO Registration - Shows - Laws - News - Value

It has many of the most popular gun listing sites including ARMSLIST - Terms of Use Agreement< - Free Local Gun and Firearm Classifieds as well as gunlistings.org - Free Local Used and New Gun Classifieds Ad Listings. Pistols, Rifles, Shotguns, Antique and Collectible Guns, and Gun Accessories. among several others.

Thanks and enjoy if so

For those in the Pacific Northwest, Seattle Guns Dot Org • Index page is a forum that is run kind of like a craigslist and they even have local shoots. The last one had around 35-50 people and lots of different firearms.

www.armslist.com

This is a fairly new site, but it looks like it is well organized.
