I just started loading for my cz 52s, none of my manuals (except for Lee which only has data for aa powder) have data for it. I would like to find data for some of the powders I have on hand. Unique, H-110, red dot, bullseye and maybe 4227. I found some on the internet but they were fairly mild loads. I want to explore the potential of this cartrige. I like hot-fast loads. this is a pretty flat shooting pistol round and I think it would be a good small to medium game(under 100 lbs.)round. any one have any pet loads in that calibre?

Assuming you are going to start under max and work your way up:Max loads-85gr bullet,Unique,6.2-1300fps-univ clays,6.6,1400fps-HS6,8.6,1500fps-power pistol,7.6,1500fps-WW540,8.8,1500fps-800x,7.2,1450fps-AA#7,9.7,1450fps-Herco,7.0,1400fps. sam.
Not exactly sure without looking but, 7.62.25 is a hot load, recoil isnt bad but is one of my favorites for sure, im pretty sure it is up there with 9mm velocity or faster, when I was reading my Cheaper Than Dirt the other day I seen some of the top calibers for muzzle velocity and 9mm, 7.62.25 and 357 were the fastest ones I seen for handgun loads, sorry I cant get technical like some guys but I guess u could call me an amature gun enthusiest, I know all handgun bullet weight by heart, most anyway, Gunney.
The Lyman book has a section on the 7.62x25. I've been using about 5.5 grns of red dot. Fairly mild load but goes bang... Oh yeah, I forgot about this site too: 7.62 x 25 Load Data - Handloads.Com
I saw where someone had loaded a sabot in the 7.62x25. Anyone have any experience with this sort of thing? Kinda looked like a 5.56 bullet in the sabot. It will do almost 1600 fps with the 85 grain factory load - a lighter .22 cal bullet could be interesting. Reeds ammo has developed something similar by necking down the case, but they want lots of money for their barrels.
thanks for the info gang. yes its a hot little cartridge, I'm real curious what can be wrung out of it with some hot loads. the .223 timbs looks interesting but i"m leaning toward the more conventional. so far my pistols seem to prefer .308 90gr. jhp over the .32 85 gr jhp. but that is probably due to the bore size rather than bullet weight.

If your real careful and work up slow, I recommend H-110, I maxed out about 14.7 grain with the 90 grain XTP. My crony said about 1580 fps if I remember but I've read this load has done closer to 1700. My '52 has an extra strong 18# recoil spring and still throws brass about 30 feet with this load. Sounds like a hot 357 Mag and has a 5' fire ball.
This is a very hot load. Approach with caution.
13 gr's of acc. #9 will give you laarge flashing de banging. with 85 gr bullet. I've tried the 30 cal. sabot and it's not going fast enought to work. they will go through the target at 10yds sideways. This is the bullet and sabot for the 30-06 accellorator., I'm going to try them in a Ishapore in .308. (some day. after I tame my 8x56R m-95. I've got a handle on it, just refining it.

I've looked doing a sabot round as well but am thinking that the sabots made for 30cal rifles may be too long... I wonder if you could shave part of the end off or get some custom made...
13.1 gr AA#9 85 gr load from the 2000 book from Accurate Arms has since been revised in 2005 down to 10.4 gr
Too many CZ52s were blowing up.
CZs come with mushy recoil springs and new owners did not replace them. The slide slamming into the frame stop caused hairline fissures in the metal. The springs were probably mushy 40 years ago when they were in service. C&R/surplus guns have previous lives.
We used the RC hardness meter at the Jet propulsion laboratory in CA to measure the heat treat on old CZ52 barrels. It varies from RC25 to RC35.
The new generation CZ52 barrels for 9mm are RC47, like a Kel-Tec or any other strong pistol with ultra thin chamber walls.picture of a split CZ52 barrel with poor quality control and thin chamber bottom
