I put a Leupold 3x9x40 om my new Stevens .223 and can shoot 1" groups at 100 yards. Thats good enough for me considering my fading eyesight.
I'm refinishing a Swede Mauser (6.5x55) and will be looking for a another scope. The Leupold has been excellent so far.

Thumbs up

Have the Adventure Class 4-16x40mm on AR flat top. Would not trade it for another. Holds groups very tight. Recommend it highly. Have used many others over 33 years in law enforcement. Will use the money saved to buy more ammo when I can find it.

I had a Adventure class. Sent it back as it hitting 6" right of center at 100 yards. Also hitting 5-5 1/2" low. The scope is adjusted as far as possible 'up' and to the left is maxed. I put my ol simmons back on. All hitting ok now. The only problem I have is, the dealer I bought it from at the gun show( Thats all he was selling) said send it back to him and he would replace . OK , its been 3 weeks since he received the returned scope. He has not returned 1 e-mail since he received my return. I have been plesant in my e-mails , nothing bad said. At this time I would not reccomend a Center point scope to anyone. Bob

That's a cruddy deal RugerBob. What type of rifle did you put it on? I put 3-9 X40 on a model 60 a while back and have had no problems after probably 600 rounds. The day I sighted it in I consistently strung rounds to the target, two or three clicks at a time, and finished up by putting nine rounds through a golf ball sized circle at fifty yards. 7 of them were touching (I saved the paper so mom could put it on her refrigerator! haha). I bought the scope with a walmart gift card and didn't have super high expectations but so far have been impressed. Only had to re-zero once and that was only 3 or 4 clicks down. I've watched a lot of shots go downrange through an old 4-9X Simmons and honestly have to say I like the center point better, and it was about half the price. The illuminated mil-dot reticle is sweet! If I ever get a .22WMR I will definately put the Center Point on it, or maybe even buy another one.

tclu1308, had the scope on a 30-06 marlin xl-7. Glad to hear yours is hitting good. I work 3rd and just got up and low and behold, the replacement was in the mail box. I personnely think it may be the same one one. I thought about going to mid size(hieght) for the rings. That may help with the issues there. But don't see how it'll help with the R-L issue. Maybe they fixed it. Its gonna be a few weeks before I can take it out and test it. we'll see. Bob

nice to hear you got it back Bob, be sure to post results after you get the chance to see how it works. I've never scoped anything bigger than a rimfire so am not very familiar with some of the problems that can arise. But it seems to me like if you're mounting it with rings the R-L problem almost had to be scope related. Hopefully they fixed it. I almost started a thread on these scopes a while back because I really like the one I got, but I figured I'd just keep the WalMart special stuff to myself, haha. Well then I stumbled on this older thread and it sounds like a lot of the guys on here are happy with their Center Points. Good luck!

centerpoint over $200 answer

the centerpoints over $200 are the powerclass line they have 56mm objective and 30mm tube. much more light transmission and much clearer than the others well worth the additional price. hope this helps. (don't think wal-mart carries these...could be wrong)

tclu1308, Finally got to the range. Its still a POS. I just ordered some wheeler alinement tools and a bore sighter from Midway. The simmons scope I use has med rings. The cp has high rings. maybe I shoud have also ordered a different brand of rings. Hindsight. Bob

Well I noticed this thread popped back up, read back through it a little, and it sounds like you're still having problems RugerBob. All I can say is that stinks. Maybe you got a lemon. With my limited knowledge it seems like there aren't a whole lot of other options other than the ones you've stated. One thought I had off the top of my head is maybe try mounting the scope on a different rifle, like if you have a .22 or something and could just mount the scope with the dovetails. At least then if you had similar results it would pretty much be proof that the scope is off. This is probably something I would try more out of frustration than any sort of logical reasoning, as a last resort before I started pulling my hair out (which I can't really afford to do anymore)! I hope you find more time in your busy schedule to tinker with and shoot your rifle!

best wishes, tclu

just curious, did you get one of the Walmart ones or get it elsewhere?

Would a centerpoint 2x7 be a good choice for a lever action .30-30?

So far...my .22 WMR is the biggest thing I've put it on...it makes that bolt-action SING

It's still on there, I'm still shooting sub-moa groups...and I freeking LOVE it

It might work on my .45/70, but I'll have to get a second one, as I'm not about to screw up a good combo with my 4-16x40 on that Marlin 25MN.
