Welcome to G&G! You can rechamber your rifle gor the STW, but you won't realize the full potential unless you have a long (28"-30") barrel on it. With a shorter barrel, the velocity gain will only be in the neighborhood of 100-200 f.p.s. but will come at the expense of increased recoil, and if you reload, harder to find brass and more powder consumption. IMO, I'd maybe look at the 7mm RUM. That's a good lookin' ride you've got there, I'm an old Ford guy from way back. My last "racer" was a '49 F-1 pickup with a 429 eng. that dyno'ed at just under 600 hp. on pump gas. I've still got the body, I may resurrect it one of these days.
You would need a longer action, mag.,and loading press. You have about all you can handle. sam.
If you reload you can get that 7mmRem.up to 100-150fps faster with some of the new powders.Might be able to help that way.I went through the books and there just isnt much gain in rechambering. You can gain just a little by going Weatherby but I cant see any real gain.If you want more fps downrange use a slower burnrate powder and higher BC bullets. sam.

You can rechamber your rifle to the Weatherby or the STW, but you won't realize the full potential unless you have a long (28"-30") barrel on it. This seems like a lot of money to spend for such a small gain in velocity. With a shorter barrel, the velocity gain will only be in the neighborhood of 100-200 f.p.s. but will come at the expense of increased recoil, increased barrel wear , and if you reload, harder to find brass and much more powder consumption. If you reload you can get that 7mmRem.up to 100-150fps faster with some of the new powders.
If this will not satisfy you then a new 28 in better barrel in the desired caliber would be the way to go.
