Scope help please???

Hi all, I have a savage model 110, 30-06, I had a tasco scope on her before but I just bought a barska huntmaster 3-12x50mm scope. The question I have is what size rings would I need to mount it? 30mm? It just looks bigger than my old one ( 3x9 ) and I dont know if the old rings will work! Thanks all!

according to the google gods it is a 1 inch tube .
you will probably need higher rings to fit the 50mm scope on there though unless the tasco had a 50mm bell.

Thanks for the info, Im new to rifles, sorry about the questions. I know the tasco does not have the 50mm, when you say higher rings, what do you mean? Loke 1inch ones? Sory, but I do appreciate the help!

the pillar thing that the ring part is hooked to. it might need to be taller.

xtra high is too tall. I have a 3.5-10x-50 Sightron mounted on a Savage 110 30-06 using Warne med rings on a wever base.

You can always take it to a local firearm store. They will make sure you get what you need.

I'd suggest taking the gun to your local gunshop along with the scope, and find the shortest ring that will still allow the scope to be mounted with adequate clearance. Stay away from the cheap Chinese rings like Leapers, BEC, etc., they'll only cause you grief.
