Here is the reason to always check over your ammo. This Brand new Round of S&W 30/06 came out of the package like this today, Had I tried it, It would have Jammed up My 742 Carbine.

That's a new one on me Moose, i didn't even know that S&W was building ammo. I've seen the same prob. with some Russian mil-surp '54R ammo, but it just goes to show, you have to pay attention 24\7.
