Model Seven CDL vs. Model 700 CDL

Hey everyone,

Im looking to buy a new rifle in a .35. The top two candidates are a Remington Model Seven CDL in .350 Rem. Mag and a Model 700 CDL in .35 Whelen. The two calibers seem comprable on paper, and I am new to Remingtons having only owned Brownings. I like the fact that the Model Seven has a 20" barrel and comes with open sights whereas, the Model 700 has a 26" naked barrel that I would end up having a gunsmith put iron sights on and maybe take 2-4" inches off the barrel length. With that said I would apprieciate any input from people who are familiar with either of the guns and/or calibers.

Thanks

Model 7

My vote is for the model 7 but may be prejudice since I just bought one in 350 mag. I guess the only draw back is the OAL of the load with heavy bullets. Curt
