I know this is Gun & Game and not Gun & Archery, but I think it would be cool to have more indepth archery forums. I think archery and shooting guns go hand and hand. I have looked around for good archery forums and can't find any I really like, and I really like it here. I can already tell I'm going to have to get some pics of my M1 Carbines to post on here. Just an idea though, thought some archery fans might like more room here.
Archery is a gentleman's pass time. I like archery, I like being a gentleman, but then I like being a gentleman with firearms also. I read some where that "an armed socity is a polite socity," and as far as I'm concerned I've never met anyone on the shooting or archery range that wasn't polite and respectful to others there. I donno but being polite, respectful and considerate seems to be traits that most of us who "play" with dangerous "toys" possess.
I agree. I believe it has to do with learning to respect whatever device that you are firing. You gain respect for that device and gain respect for the people able to operate the device while using some common sense.
I don't think there's anything wrong with a good archery focus on a gun site. It's just not something I have a lot to contribute to. Would eb happy to read. My wife would love a longbow of her own.

The success ratio is sure lower. This dosen't make it bad, just not alot to talk about. I've been bow hunting for a long time and don't have alot to tell other than some nice days in the woods.
I'm an advice bow shooter but would like somewhere people could post some of their expertise. I think it would be cool for people to post what they like in a bow setup as far as rest, sight, arrows, those sort of things. I will start with posting my favoritism to whisker biscuit rests. I've been reading a lot about air rest but have not seen one in action yet. Air rests use magnets to suspend the arrow in place without anything touching it. Only thing that makes me stop and think is only the front end of the arrow has the magnetic insert to hold it in place, so what keeps the arrow from dropping and the fletch hitting the rest.
