check out this new taser !

Taser International is coming out with their newest device soon. Check it out....

It's a Taser slug that is shot out of a 12 gauge shotgun at 300 fps , at a rage of 100 ft. No wires...it is self contained, delivering the same stun as police tasers for 20 seconds after impact.

20 seconds has got to be a long time as your whole body twitches and writhes uncontrolably. That's still pretty cool.

Is it just me, or are those prongs massive? Like .17cal size?

I wouldn't volunteer to be hit with one

I've seen a film of this a few months back. The volunteer didn't seem to react any worse than a more typical Taser - that is to say, he reacted like it hurt like hell and fell over.

I do sort of like this idea. Very Fire and Forget, which is a definite plus for LEOs, especially in chaotic situations.

Now we just need to make sure it's not a first resort choice.

Although...packaging it like this makes me think that it's less likely to be used as casually as the gas-powered guns are. It's a great deal more threatening to the target, who may be more inclined to comply, and the LEO might also be less prone to fire it off without thinking about it first.

Can't think of a reason not to like this one.

And just when I thought they couldn't make one more fun thing to shoot out of a shotgun! That drastically increases the effective range of a taser compared to what we have available right now. Would sure be handy for those times on "COPS" when a guy tries to run on foot and you see the overweight cop losing the race...

Not only does it have the threatening look a little yellow gun doesn't I mean who wouldn't sit down when a shotgun is aimed at them(if they are in their right mind) I wonder if they will make the officers who carry them get shot with them like they usually do. Would suck to take one to the melon for sure.

Sure would be fun to shoot a cow with one of those...er...uh...I mean, when are they coming out? Are they available to the public? How much are they? Any ideas?

Those would be great for at home protection. Dont have to worry about them going through walls and you dont have to deal with your conscience over killing someone.

Funny thing about the taser is that it really only works if you have backup. I'll stick with buckshot.

Sound like it might work for antiriot work, and also for a first shot stop if you are trying to bring 'em back alive. But I'd want the second round to be No. 4 buckshot, on the theory that if the first round doesn't stop the perp, the second one will kill him.

Dang those prongs would hurt...but that is a really good idea so long as its only used for crowd control. If it was carried on patrol it could cause some serious trouble. But for riots...man that would work great.

Thats a silly question. If it is being marketed to LEO's, then of course it has been thoroughly tested on old lady's and little kids.
