I had a friend over the other day. He wanted to get info on a 40cal semi-auto handgun. I showed him some stuff & we talked about a few things. He has since asked his FFL dealer to find him a USP 40c. I hope he likes his as much as I do.

Thumbs up

I'd been trying every .45 ACP pistol I could get my hands on. Nothing seemed to fit. Then a gun shop counter guy handed me a USP .45 and it was love at first heft.
I bought it on the spot and have never had reason to regret that decision.
The gun shoots to POA, easily handles +P loads, points naturally for me and is oh soooo nice to shoot.
NEVER EVER FOR SALE OR TRADE!

If I had one gripe about my USP, it would have to be magazine price. $49.99 per is kinda steep, but I've yet to wear one out so the old adage of "Buy quality, cry once. Buy cheap, cry much" applies here.

I think the biggest difference is accuracy. I shot my first HK about 6 years and I was so impressed with how much more accurate it was than my Glock and Glocks are accurate. I bought a standard USP .45 and then traded up for the tactical .45. I have never regreted the money I spent on my HK. I would like to buy and HK P7 but just don't have the funds.

For me it was fit, pointability, and compactness. I really love SIG products, but the USP in .40 with the LEM points and fits my hand better than the 239 (and almost as well as the 220--ideally I'd carry this but it's a bit bulky for everyday CCW IWB under a loose "T" for me). USP .40 compact was a good combination of firepower, totability, and shootability. Yes it is plastic and the trigger takes some getting used to because it stages fairly sharply but it does make an excellent carry gun.

Isn't it H&K that hates us all because we all suck? Or is that another gun co.?

I have an H&K USP .45 Compact Tactical with Trijicon night sights and I never go anywhere with out it. I have fired well over 5000 round through it in the three years I have owned it. With those rounds the only problem I have had is stove piping due to poor performing powder on hand loads.

Only have One, but always Looking for more.. I bought an Hk93 back in the early 80's, and at the time I felt the build quality and reliability was the best... Still have it and never regretted it for a moment... Just recently picked up a CETME (Hk91 pre-curser) and am very happy with it too, although it lacks the finesse and precision of the Hk. One of the things that impressed me most was the delayed blowback system which keeps everything locked tight until after the round leaves the muzzle. And if I understand the story right the same engineers that helped to design the Stg44 of WWII went to Spain and built the CETME then went back to Germany and Hk ... with lots of time to perfect ideas and designs. And for the record I've never had anyone shoot my Hk and not walk away very impressed.
