38super vs 7.62.25

Would you consider 7.62.25 more powerful than 38super because of it's velocity? I am either going to buy a CZ 52 or a Star modelo super. Since the
Star may need to be modified to fire the common 38super I may just buy the CZ 52. I have fired my brother in law's and I have to say it has a more stout recoil than my 9mm. Any information on the CZ 52 and comparison to the 38super would be greatly appreciated.

It becomes pretty much personal preference. The CZ52 load gives better penetration, but with a smaller bullet. The 9mm Largo/.38 Super have a heavier bullet, better suited to a good hollow-point for more damage, but not as much penetration. You decide which way you want to go.
Economically, I think the CZ52 is the better buy - lower priced gun and more available parts and magazines, and more available surplus ammo.
Check out Sportsman's Guide for the Bulgarian 7.62X25 ammo - $89.97 for 800 rounds. Good stuff, though it IS corrosive. Clean accordingly!
