Missing Gunny Friend

A friend of mine is missing in the mountains of Colorado, on a hunting trip. He was hunting by himself. Other hunters noticed his truck with his hunting rifle nearby. The Sheriff and nearby hunters helped out, looked for him, but it looks like we wont know any more until spring, when the snow melts.

Dale was a nice guy, we'll miss him.

Theories Abound

Thanks for everyone's interest and concern. It helps me to write about it, and work through my concerns, especially my wondering if there was anything I could have done. The Sheriff did a great job investigating, looking after his belongings, and contacting friends in the address book he left behind.

There are a lot of mountain lions in that area, that's one theory. He had some health problems of various sorts, but rather than guess too much, I'll just wait for Spring.

They are not going to continue to search now? How long is it until spring?

I hope your mate turns up safe and well.

Im sorry he went missing, I often am on Search and Rescue in wilderness areas. I seriously doubt Lions have anything to do with it and would suggest you not give up hope that he turns up it could very well happen that he is found yet.

I'll be praying for you and your friend. If it turns out that he didn't make it, it sounds like he went doing what he loved to do.

What part of Montana are you from Romey? I live near Kalispell. A guy was just jumped by a mountain lion here last week.
