Throat and or Muzzle Erosion Gauge

Does anyone have a throat erosion and/or muzzle erosion gauge they would loan me? For a small fee of course (and I would pay shipping both ways).

Or does anyone know a way to jury rig a close approximation to one? I already did the bullet test on my new Garand from CMP and it passed with flying colors. My buddy thinks it's probably a virtually new barrel and I would like to know just how good it might be. Let me know. Thanks!

Whats passing with flying colors mean. Did you use a m2 ball rd? How much bullet is showing between the barss and muzzle?

I used a Greek CMP round. There was a lot of bullet showing, maybe 3/8 inch?? Should I measure that?

You should have gotten a tag with the Measurements from CMP when you bought it. They fill out an Info sheet with all pertinent Info when they inspect it for sale.

I'll have to look for that. I don't remember seeing that in the paper work.

While using a bullet for muzzle wear is very inaccurate it will give you a idea of MW. Sounds like yours has low MW

Sometimes the CMP hang-tags are not very accurate. That worked well for me at the Noth Store.
