you probably didn't need the update anyway.lol your virus settings might be set to high .does it give you a reason why ?it should tell you why it failed like a code then you can look up the code and fix it or you can go to computer checkup and have it run a scan and it will fix any problems you might have there too.

AH, what do you mean "HP Downloads" ? I'm sure I can help you, but I'm not sure what you are referring to.

he's probably talking about when you sign onto the internet hp will have updates sometimes and it will ask you if you want to update now or later .it should tell you what kinda update it is when it ask you about the update sometimes you need them and sometimes you don't sometimes they want to update things on my computer and it for programs i or you don't even have nor do i even want to have so i say no i don't wanna update. thats what is probably going on. as for as the error it should give him a reason why it failed or it should give him a code to look up that would tell him why it failed to download the update.

oh, so he talking actually about Hewlett Packard downloads/auto updates? I thought that may be what he was talking about, but wasn't sure.

Best thing to do AH, is go to HP United States - Computers, Laptops, Servers, Printers & more and download the drivers manually and install them that way. I hate auto-updates for hardware and 3rd party software. Microsoft Auto-Updates for important security updates is good, but for something like a printer...WHO GIVES A CRAP, it works, why fix it? When you come across a time where it doesn't work, then update it...but until then, what does it matter? Software updates for your printer can't upgrade the hardware and make it print any better...so why fix what ain't broke?

Now, for people like me, playing alot of video games, I make sure I look for performance hardware updates at least once every week or two. But, for the average user, this is not necessary. Just be sure you run your automatci microsoft security updates, as this can help in defending against spyware, adware and in many cases, viruses.

i agree with you 100%crazy ivan. why fix something that ain't broke .the only time i really let the updates download is when it for a program i have and i think it will improve it.like for my pictures and stuff. other than that i don't need it . when you need it the computer will say hey you need to download this before you can do this .and you must go to this web site and download it . thats when i'll download it.

something bad about them auto ypdates is they don't always takeout the old versions and then your left with version1.0and 2.0 and the 3.0 comes along and you get that one too. java is bad for that.it pays you to just sit down and go through your documents and programs one day and see just what you have and get rid of the rest or the old versions.

lol, I call em the "Auto YUPdates" because it's typically these yuppy puppies who have white collar jobs, but have no real idea how anything works. They can answer the phone and/or yap their jaw at people and talk the talk, but when it comes to actual knowledge, they are about as sharp as a river rock.

As far as AH, he is a country man. He has common knowledge and outdoor experience. I hold no animosity toward that kind of person. But, yuppie puppies...they have no wilderness knowledge or technical knowledge...they just enjoy telling people they have the "Top Notch" this or that when they have no fricken clue.
